Description: Welcome to Squid Ink restaurant situated in the historic fishing port of Looe in South East Cornwall. This intimate 32 cover restaurant is owned by Looe resident Adrian Woodward and first opened in 2008. The restaurant itself is housed within a character filled period building dating back more than 300 years.Looe is a pretty seaside town and important Cornish port selling mainly day caught fish from small trawlers, netting boats and line fishing boats, where the highest EU quality level of E (excellent) is electronically `attached' to almost every box of fish. Day boats are considered one of the more sustainable ways to fish, and they also provide the freshest fish.We are committed to offering outstanding service and our menu includes dishes suitable for allergy sufferers or those just wishing to avoid certain foods such as seafood, gluten or dairy. If however you have any additional dietary requirements you are welcome to discuss them with the chef who will endeavour to accommodate them.

Our last night in Looe was spent having dinner at the Squid Ink. It is truly a unique and wonderful dinning experience. From beginning to end, it was a special time, with wonderful food. I had a halibut with gnocchi and my husband had a lovely mackerel, both delicious. The dessert, or pudding, was amazing - chocolate cremaux with popcorn on top! Will come back again next time in Looe!!

Whilst on holiday near Looe I took my girlfriend to the Squid Ink for a birthday meal. The experience was fantastic from the moment we were sat down at the open fire to view the menu to when we left. The staff were friendly and helpful, explaining each dish if you wished. Most importantly the food was delicious. A touch more expensive than some other alternatives but for a special occasion or a treat it can't be beat.

From the moment we entered the restaurant to the minute we left, every element of our evening for two was superb!

The staff (meet/greet & waitress) were a delight, attentive, efficient - keen to help but equally discrete.

The food was truly amazing - of particular note the belly pork which was to die for!

Portions were very good, flavours amazing, presentation a delight but not too pretentious.

We could see the chef cooking & he really was fantastic in the skills exhibited.

Decor is light & airy, spotless, a very nicely stocked bar/cellar.

One not to be missed as the new proprietors make a superb mark on the place.

Come again?? We drove 400 miles to Looe and this was a highlight!!

Drag yourself past the establishments doing fish & chips, hot pasties, pizza and kebabs until you find Squid Ink in Lower Chapel Street. Here they know fine dining at its best. Beautifully prepared food served by lovely friendly staff in a quaint old Cornish building. Would I go again, not half!
