“Wonderful stay ”

Had a lovely time in this cosy cottage - very quiet and peaceful despite fab location in the centre of Looe with lots of shops and cafes on the doorstep. It was very tastefully decorated and had all the amenities you could want, also a very helpful guide recommending some good places to eat, walks etc. Make sure you do the walks to polperro and the Coddy shack - not to be missed!
First experience on airb&b and it was an excellent one, thank you!

“Excellent stay at the Boathouse in Looe!”

Everything related to our stay at the Boathouse was perfect!
We were well prepared thanks to Ian and all the indications he had sent in advance.
Once at the boathouse, shortbread and tea were expecting us and the place looked (and indeed was) so comfortable!
All relevant information was well explained and the recommendations very helpful!
The location was very good in the centre of Looe! We are thinking about staying at the other houses Ian rents in Cornwall which also seem very attractive and far more hidden compared to the boathouse.

We are a bit late with our review but we´d like to thank Ian for a great stay at his boathouse.

Just spent a lovely week at the Boathouse. Great location, it really is in the heart of Looe. Ian, the owner, is very helpful. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are their when you arrive, as is a bottle of pressed apple juice which is absolutely gorgeous.
The bed is extremely comfy and not only has feather pillows, but a feather duvet as well.
I can certainly recommend this place, and will be returning as soon as I can.
Well done Ian ***** a well deserved 5 stars

“Beautiful home & location”
Reviewed June 14, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Wonderful week in a great house. Brilliant position, moments from the beach and the lovely cafes and restaurants Looe has to offer (would recommend Mama J's and the Old Sail Loft). Lots of beautiful places to visit nearby, especially enjoyed Looe Island. The house had everything we needed and Ian was a brilliant host, would love to return in the future.

“One word - Awesome”

Looe is a quaint little town - with lots of shops and restaurants which were only a stone's through away from The Boathouse. The property was situated just a little way up Castle Street which at the entrance had a pub and a bakery but no noise from either. Took us a little while to find it - easier by parking the car at one of the Quay car parks and walking (only a 5 minute walk away for us and we are not the most agile being nearly 73 and 75). The place is immaculate and appears to have been professionally designed with lovely décor and furniture (and an extremely comfortable bed). The only reason I could not envisage going again next year is that I have had 2 operations and have a dodgy hip so it is likely to get worse and I would not be able to manage the spiral staircase next year! For anyone in better physical condition than I am I could thoroughly recommend. Within a minute's walk from The Boathouse you are in the centre of Looe's facilities. Lovely little shops from which I have bought an array of lovely items - including little clothes shops providing items you would not find on the High Street. The Boathouse owner has thought of everything you would need for your stay. And there is interesting artwork you would not find anywhere else and which I thought was a lovely touch. There is free overnight parking in the Long Stay Car Park from 6pm to 9am so that is where we parked and my husband would feed the meter at 9am which gave me time to get up and get ready and make the short walk there prior to setting off for any of the places of interest. We visited The Eden Project(our 2nd visit), Jamaica Inn and The Lost Gardens of Heligan (both of the latter we would also like to return to). We also made a trip to Charlestown to visit the Art Galleries. The rest of the time we parked up at The Quay and wandered round the little shops adjoining the quay. In one of the little alleyways which went through to the quay they do amazing triple decker crab sandwiches for only £5.50 which we took back to The Boathouse to eat whilst watching t.v. (There is one in both the lounge and the bedroom!). We did initially have a little difficulty with the key pick-up (from a box outside the door which you do by putting in a key code but we soon got the hang of it.

“Perfect spot for two! ”
Reviewed May 20, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My Fiancé and I have just returned from Looe, we stayed from Monday to Friday. The accommodation was lovely and to a good standard, we stayed in and cooked one night and found we had all the supplied we needed. The location is perfect, a stones throw from all of the pubs and restaurants of Looe. This is a great base to explore. I personally found the check in time of 4pm to be quite late, this is the only criticism, however this cannot always be helped and understand that preparing for the next visitor can take time. Overall, a perfect stay in Looe, we will be back!
