Our two grandchildren enjoyed the various pools, tanks and the tunnel through the biggest tank for about 45 minutes which means it’s not great VFM.rf r

I don't know the difference between a sea life centre or an aquarium apart from the price. Me and my wife visited the blue reef aquarium and we were meet by staff which was really friendly and the price was cheaper than expected. This is an amazing place to go to especially if it's raining. Plenty of different fish to see.

Visited here recently whilst on holiday , lovely aquarium with lots to see and do and plenty of information about the sea creatures. The price isn't bad at all to get in and I'd highly recommend the guide at £2.99 as it also has more information. There's lots of different sea life to see, there is also a lovely cafe and gift shop on site at the end of the look around and the prices aren't bad at all. You pay and get a stamp so that you can return whenever you want to on that set day which is perfect if you want to pop back after walking down the beach ! Highly recommend

The aquarium is small but on a rainy day is worth a visit. We got discounted tickets but slightly pricey at full price for the size and time spent inside. Our 5 and 11 year olds enjoyed seeing all the sea creatures.
I'd say average time spent in the aquarium is an hour tops.

Sadly very disappointed! Family day out with grandparents and daughter on a wet and windy day, so decided to take cover indoors and enjoy the sights of the aquarium.
Firstly tickets are pricey - 2 seniors and 1 standard adult was £30 (under two free!). Might sound like the going rate, but for what you get we thought it was expensive. The aquarium itself is small, you can go round in less than an hour and there's not a lot to see. The highlight of the visit was the sea turtle - reading the story behind it's journey and how the aquarium have helped it was lovely. The shop was poor, small in size with mainly soft toys and plastic small nick-nacks! No nice wooden puzzles or educational toys. The building looks rundown - could definitely do with putting some money towards improving the look with a 'facelift' and general upkeep. The cleanliness was terrible! I took my daughter to the baby changing facilities and felt sick with disgust with how filthy dirty the toilets were. There was thick grime round the baby changing pod and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for some time. Think the health and hygiene standards agency would write a hefty report here!!!
On a positive I applaud the efforts and hard work the staff and marine workers do in protecting our oceans and marine life, which is clear from here they take an interest. We love a visit to an aquarium but on this occasion I would not be returning to the Blue Reef nor would I recommend it (unless some drastic changes were made).
