“Shame!”

I stayed at this park 3 times in the late 80's and was really excited about going back there last year. This were great until on the Tuesday night they let travellers on site and set up next to us on a star pitch. The manager was VERY unreasonable and unwilling to listen to any concerns myself or other caravaners had. She said, if you don't like it, move on!!! I for one will never return to this park! We did move on and found a great site called, Riverside. Family run and very caring about your stay. 5 stars for them Parkdean, you're rubbish.

We holidayed at this park in april. We were given a very spacious fully heated 3 bedroom caravan as standard. I have no compalints it was very clean and they even put a roll of loo roll in the toilet. There are several childrens parks spotted around the park which our 2 year old loved. The food at the on site reasutrant is what you would expect, fast food but yet still tasty. I am not going to comment on the quality of entertainment as we didnt go there. The only thing that does really let the park down is the fact that the shop shuts at 6, but if you have a car there are lots of supermarkets about 2miles down the road that are alot better price wise anyway. All in all a very good holiday exept being let down by the great bristish weather!

From our children being small we stayed at N.H.Park and the first year was amazing going back to 2000 so from then on we thought we'd go again but started noticing faults and the standard of cleanliness had gone down hill as steep as the entrance, we complained to the reception who then sent a cleaner up and they gave us a bottle of wine as a good will gesture as the static caravan we stayed in was dirty, We still gave it our kind of clean afterwards.....not good after a 9 hr journey, however giving the park the benefit of the doubt we left it a few years and then went again two years ago just to see if it had got better to which we were appalled by the state it had got into. By changing hands to a group firm we noticed the astra turf/ felt around the pools were lifting which was dangerous, the toilets and shower block for tourers were filthy and the dog walk was littered with broken glass and old parts belonging to the static caravans i.e toilets, old mattresses etc, even the seagulls were gathering round the refuse skips as they were over flowing with rubbish........Will I go again with my family?? No way

We took our touring caravan and stayed on a Star pitch.
The pitch was a hardstanding for caravan and awning and was newly done with water and electric hook up and also a drain for waste water, the problem with that is it is the wrong side of the pitch and far too far unless you have meters and meters of waste pipe with you! The pitches are quite small in size and the access road between is very narrow . The toilet and shower block for these pitches was freezing and the gents handdryer was broken all week, the water was also not very hot but the toilets were clean. The showers were very hit and miss as well, one day would work fine next day not at all!
The soft play area was dirty and untidy and was the same all week, also no one was "policing" it and had children using it that were far too old and big fighting and throwing the ball pool balls at each other. The arcade was a joke with broken machines and unfilled cranes etc for days on end.
The venue/bar/toy shop was also not great with the shop being in a right untidy mess and never manned, kids were going in picking things up and walking out! We also did not rate the secuity, not once did we get asked for our passes to access any of the venue/bar, when we were told we would have to show them.
Also as someone else has said the toilets for the venue smelled very badly and also the cubical doors would not shut/lock.
The whole place was just badly run.
The only good thing was the star pitches are close to the venue etc but far enough away not to get the noise and also the road is a dead end so no through traffic.
It was cheap but we will not go again.

Room Tip: Wait until they refurbish the whole place!

Have just returned from the Newquay Holiday park and have to say what a lovely short break it was. The caravan was excellent - spotlessly clean with en suite bathroom in the double bedroom. The entertianmnet on site is quite low key but suited us fine, with a well stocked reasonably priced bar. We did eat on site at the carvery which to be honest wasnt the best but I would put this down to the restaurant been full to the rafters and them not being able to cope with the demand.
Please be aware this site is on a hill and a steep one at that ! To be honest we were glad of the hill to try and walk off some of those Cornish pasties !!
No Indoor pool but an excellent outdoor pool area , which I was reliably informed is heated to 30
when its open. There's few little parks for the children to enjoy and a pitch and putt- golf clubs can be hired for £2.
Also worth a mention is Cafe Indulgence which is in on Fore street in the centre of Newquay, this is a lovely cafe where you can have gorgeous cakes, cream teas and even the complusory Cornish Pastie ! Not to be missed .

Hadn't stayed in a caravan for years bu thought would take my 3 year old for a short break.

The caravan itself was basic but clean and in a lovely quiet location but still only a short walk from the entertainment complex.

The entertainment was great for kids, my little girl had such a great time. The entertainment staff were always on the dance floor with them which meant that we could sit down and relax. Consisted of kids Sid and Lizzie club and then bingo, quizzes, adult games and cabaret acts. Some of the cabaret was cheesy but overall very entertaining and we all had fun.

The other facilities were swimming pools which were closed due to the time of year but looked great. Would be great to see an indoor pool at the site. Arcade was small but fun and there are numerous kids play areas around the park which were nicely maintained.

The food in the bar and restaurant was nice and reasonably priced. The shop was expensive but well stocked.

Location wise, it was great. We visited lots of places in Cornwall. Beaches are good nearby. It is about 3 miles into Newquay town but this was not a problem at all.

The park is on a hill but we are a young family so no problem for us and views are fantastic as a result of hills.

Overall we loved our stay here and are now thinking of buying a caravan on the site for many returns in the future :)

There have been some poor reviews but we had no problems at all and would recommend for family holidays. We went during the Easter holidays and the park was full but you couldn't tell, it was still very peaceful.

Room Tip: If you can rent a private caravan you will get a much better standard of accommodation. If renting t...

OK, quick review following on from last years fiasco.

You probably think that I'm stupid for even going back to this place, but I thought that by arranging to stay in a SPECIFIC caravan and having this confirmed that I would have no problems this year.

How wrong I was.

We should have been in a private rental, top of the range caravan. Exactly the same one that my in laws stayed in last year. Perfect! Guess what? We get to reception, join the long queue and after a while we get given a key for a caravan in a different part of the park. There were three parties this time, but they didn't seem to have two other caravans straight away. Hmmm.

I pointed out that we had CONFIRMED a SPECIFIC caravan. After more shifting of papers, I was told that this caravan was not available. They offered us three caravans spread from one end of the park to the other. I explained that we were on holiday together and wanted to be near eachother, as requested when we booked. I told them that we had booked specific caravans and what they had offered us was in no way acceptable. They blamed it on Head Office changing bookings. What a load of b*llocks.

They said that the site was fully booked, so there was nothing they could do but put us in whatever they did have available. More b*llocks.

More shuffling of papers and then we were told to go to the bar until they sorted this out. I asked what they were actually going to do about it and how long it would take. I didn't want to go to the bar, I wanted to start my holiday.

After a while we got given the keys to three caravans near eachother and were told to check them out. They were not really up to scratch compared to what we had actually booked, but not wanting to waste even more time, we accepted.

Upon returning to the reception in order to book in, imagine my surprise when the reception manager told us that she was in the middle of dealing with someone else and there was a queue. I reminded her that she hadn't finished with us yet, so with a blank look she signed us in.

The caravans had clearly been evacuated in a hurry.
In ours, there was poo smeared on the toilet seat, hairs all over the dressing tables in the bedrooms, dirty cups on the mug tree, there was some food left in the fridge and a thick layer of grease on the cooker hood. The cleaner came around to ask if all was OK. When I told her, she shook her head and said we should have reported it. We cleaned it ourselves as we didn't have the time to waste waiting for a cleaner.

The DVD didnt work at all, it didn't even close so the tray was stuck out all week. There were dead flies all around the caravan. The glass shelf in the tiny bathroom was not attached at one end, so if anything had been placed on it, it would have fallen and smashed. I took it down for safety reasons.

The lumpy, skeletal sprung main bed was a king sized one. The duvet was not.

Yet again, a caravan that needed some TLC just to make it habitable.

What really pees me off the most is that the reception manager is NEVER apologetic when they mess up, which is every time. She treats you as if they are doing you a favour by allowing you into their site.

Clearly my plan of making a CONFIRMED booking of SPECIFIC caravans didn't work. Once payment was made, they didn't care. Which just about sums them up.

Room Tip: Best tip I can give is DON'T BOTHER.
