“A wonderful stay at Kittiwake Cottage”
Reviewed 10 May 2010

My husband and I have just returned from 3 nights at Kittiwake Cottage, Port Isacc. We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Angela and Nigels B&B - the most wonderful cooked breakfast, infact huge and very filling; lovely sausages/bacon and eggs. Really set us up for the day ahead.
We stayed in the new extension which opened on to the courtyard where you could have your breakfast also. We also had cakes/coffee/teas in Cupcakes which is right next door. Again fabulous food, service with a smile, always.
Our room was very clean, light and airy - very comfortable bed and we both slept well.
We also had evening meals at the Old School House and The Mote. Both very good, amazing fish meals, friendly service.
Very much looking forward to returning to Kittiwake in the Autumn for another break. Perfect place to stay if you wish to do walking or just to relax/read. Wish I was still there!

We've just returned from spending 4 days at the Kittiwake in Port Isaac and like the village it was small but idyllic.
We stayed in Room 4, a fairly recent extension off the court yard. The decor was clean and simple and the bed was very comfortable, a necessity after long walks along the cliffs! The ensuite bathroom has a kidney shaped bath with a wonderfully powerful shower.
Angela cooks a tasty full English breakfast and Nigel is an excellant host, with very helpful knowledge of the local area.
We'll definately being returning next Summer.

We spent four nights in Kittiwake Cottage on a visit to Cornwall as we wanted to see the gorgeous village where "Doc Martin" is filmed.

The guest house is situated only yards from the slipway and beach and has a lovely cafe (Cupcakes) next door which is owned by the same people and where B&B guests eat their breakfast. There is also a lovely cobbled courtyard where you can sit outside with a cuppa or a delicious cream tea (their cream teas are to die for!).

The proprietors, Nigel and Angela, are very friendly and welcoming and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Our bedroom was in a more modern extension to the guest house and the door opened onto the courtyard. The room was clean, modern, comfortable and nice and airy, with the aid of two skylights. The bathroom was clean and had a large shower cubicle.

The breakfast was delicious and consisted of fruit juice, cereal, toast, a pot of tea and a cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs and all the trimmings. The eggs were gorgeous; a couple of times we got a double-yolker with them.

We had a really fantastic stay in Port Isaac and I would recommend Kittiwake Cottage without hesitation. The icing on the cake was also the fact that they were filming "Doc Martin" while we were there and we had the opportunity to meet some of the cast.
