“A great place to stay in a beautiful part of Cornwall”

From booking to leaving, our week at Hendra Barn was a joy. Angela and Phil were the perfect hosts and the home-made cake was a nice gesture. Although on a working farm, they always had time to chat, answer queries and even gave one of our party a tractor ride, which was his holiday highlight. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need to make it the perfect base to explore this wonderful area. Port Isaac, Boscastle and Port Gaverne are well worth a visit and are very close by. Further afield, St Ives is a must and Fowey is as lovely as we remembered from a previous visit to this gorgeous county. If you don't want to cook every night, try the St Kew Inn, a really pretty pub with a great restaurant. Also The Dancing Taipan in Wadebridge does a really good eat-all-you-can menu.

Liked best: warm and cosy, with a quirky layout and friendly dogs to pet
Liked least: the dodgy weather..... but it was October and it didn't spoil the week

“Very nice cottage in very quiet, rural location.”
Reviewed August 18, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Booked for a week for a family holiday (2 teenagers), this was a very good base for travelling around the Newquay, Padstow, Port Isaac area. Lovely, much appreciated cake awaited us on arrival.

Quirky upside down layout adds to the appeal. Good facilities too. Including WiFi, decent oven and dishwasher.

Be aware that a car is a must, but we were made aware of this by the owners. Would recommend to couple or family.

“Cosy yet spacious cottage in beautiful countryside”

A truly beautiful property in a stunning rural area, close to the wonderful North Cornish coast. The converted barn is very cosy, but also spacious, with a large well-equipped kitchen. After spending the days walking along the coastal paths, we enjoyed relaxing evenings cooking and sitting in front of the fire. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and peaceful. When we stayed, it was just after Christmas, and the owners had put up a Christmas tree which made it feel even more homely!

Angela was very helpful and answered all queries extremely promptly. Booking was easy and directions to the property were clear. She had left several guidebooks and maps of the area, which we found very useful.

Port Isaac is fewer than ten minutes away and is a picturesque, unspoilt fishing village, with several nice pubs and restaurants.

I highly recommend this cottage!

“Classic Cozy cornwall cottage on a welcoming working farm”

We were travelling around the UK with limited Internet and no phone, so pre booking accommodation was at times hit and miss, fortunately for us Angela went out of her way to accommodate us. Angela was actually in Germany, however she emailed promptly and sent messages to her family to welcome us at short notice. The cottages and Angela's family, who were very warm and welcoming, had everything you could possibly need. We found the location to be ideal, set way back from the road, but easy drive or walk to Port Isaac and other beautiful beaches and very handy for some great walking.
We were only sorry we just stayed 3 nights. Thank you to Phil, who managed our stay with such a wonderful, warm, welcoming country charm.
