well what a place to visit and stay, we booked in for a week self catering, the lodge we stayed in overlooked the golf course, it was very clean and tidy and had every thing you required, the breakfast was out standing.
we ate in the restaurant every evening and the food was brilliant, the only one thing I would say is that it would be nice to have some specials on to break up the menu.
the grounds are fantastic, two swimming pools, tennis court.
the staff were out standing from the reception staff to the waiters, managers, cleaners, and bar staff they could not be more helpful,
brilliant place and we will be back, thank you all for making our experience at your castle something to remember.

I'll start by saying this is the third time i have visited Tregenna. On the previous visits it was wonderful, on this occasion we visited as part of a wedding party and was saddened to see how much it has gone downhill!

The grounds do not seem to have been kept to the same high standard that they used to be kept to, the wedding was due to be held outside. The grass area was covered in old confetti, biodegradable I'm sure but no effort was made to clear up the bulk of it. The hedges/bushes have grown to the point you can no longer see the sea whilst on the grass by the pavilion.
The pavilion is in need of a very good clean, covered in algae and discoloured from what it used to be. Considering couples are charged £200 if they wish to get married outside I find this appalling! The steps leading to the pavilion were also covered in algae and there were stray glasses left on the steps one or too perhaps you would accept but it was a lot more. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant apart from the gentleman who appeared to be in charge of organising the wedding party, the couple were rushed to the room for food, he interrupted speeches informing the couple it was time to cut the cake. Once the room was vacated he proceeded to clear and re arrange the tables ready for the evening do, I was shocked to see him being so careless with centrepieces literally dropping them into the window sills. Despite moving decorations no one noticed the glass tea light holder that had broken in two due to the heat of the candle! Drinks were expensive but we expected this, the food was all delicious no complaints at all regarding this. We decided against staying as we live 20 minutes away and I am so glad we did, we have another wedding to attend here next month I just hope there has been some improvements!

After reading the reviews. I was slightly worried about our upcoming visit to the castle. But the reviews could not be further from the truth.
Our visit was amazing from the start to end.
The drive up to the castle is breathtaking. The entrance is plush and transforms you back in time.
Our room was a west wing sea view. WOW
The room was massive. A huge bed , sofa and chair in the room.
The views were to die for. The view of St Ives simply stunning. Day and night. We could see the outdoor pool and wonderful grounds.
The room was serviced every day. Tea and coffee topped up.
The food in the castle is first class. Breakfast was full of choice. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
The brassiere restaurant is lovely ,the crab linguine is perfect.
Again the staff friendly and helpful. Thank you.
The spa is lovely and relaxing. All the facilities make your stay even more special.
We loved the short cut through the woodland walk to get to St Ives.
Cannot wait to return to play golf.
A must for couples and families.

As always we really enjoyed our stay in one of the lodges. Apparently there's a rolling upgrade programme & it was great to see the master bathroom had a spanking new corner bath....the timeshare staff were coy about this & the maintenance staff confirmed it was because there had been a problem with the original one. Anyway, an improvement is an improvement! Hopefully the (dated) kitchen will be next...green plastic sink.....grim!
Of course the views were great &, despite it NOT being one of the many hot sunny weeks of the summer (a few mornings we awoke to drizzle), the micro-climate won out & nothing stopped our enjoyment of the facilities, although the tennis courts are very long overdue some attention
See you next year!

We had a really lovely 4-night stay at this hotel. The grounds are just beautiful and the hotel has so much charm. We stayed in a sea-view room and it was lovely, with really high ceilings and a gorgeous sash window looking out into the gardens with the sea in the distance. The room and bathroom were both spotless with everything you could want for a short break. We ate twice in the brasserie restaurant and thought the food was delicious, with the Sunday roast being very good value for money - highly recommended.

Breakfast was fantastic with a hot buffet that was regularly replenished so stayed fresh, with all the elements you could need for a full English. There was also plenty of Continental options with patries, breaks, cakes, fruit and cereal if you prefer. We honestly thought the breakfast was just brilliant.

All of the staff we met were polite and friendly and made us feel welcome. The indoor and outdoor pools are also not to be missed. The location was also excellent, only 15 minutes walk from the centre of St Ives, although it's a little steep on the way back - good for burning off all those breakfast calories!

All in all we had a fabulous stay here. I have made lots of a large hints to my boyfriend about getting married there so we will hopefully see you again in the future :D I can just imagine the stunning photos with that cracking view :)

Room Tip: Pay extra for sea view - you won't regret it
