Excellent location shaped like a castle and would be a beautiful venue for a wedding. Short walk to the centre of St Ives but quite steep for people who are not steady on their feet. I am 62 but was fine with it. There is an excellent bus service into st Ives every 20 minutes. Interior was good although the room we and our friends stayed in were a little tired. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Staff extremely friendly and reception full of information about the area.

WE dined here 50 years ago and the recent experience was a vivid contrast. The meal was OK but the presentation was average and my Indonesian dish was overwhelmed with sauce and was no better that one could run up at home. Good value though, and a varied wine list at reasonable prices. Friendly staff who coped well with a busy place. Not a "destination" restaurant but pleasant enough and not to be avoided.

There is not doubting that the ingredients being used are fantastic and portions also great. Unfortunately both the Mee Goreng and Paella were terribly let down by very poor execution of the sauces which ruined the dishes. The Goreng was way too salty and drowning in the sauce. The Paella has far too much lemon which drowned out the taste of absolutely everything else on the plate. A real shame as the setting is nice, service prompt, staff lovely and overall ambience good but it would be great for the chef to take another look at the way these dishes are being executed or remove from the menu. Will not be going back which is a real shame.

We were staying at the hotel and decided to eat at the brasserie on the first evening as it was. Sunday opted for the Sunday roast wasn't the best
