Gonwin Manor Cottages

Gonwin Manor is truly amazing! If you are reading this you are already thinking of visiting Gonwin Manor, my advice is book it now! From the moment you arrive until the day you leave, this place sweeps you off your feet. We stopped at Lavender cottage and everything you may need is there, I have never seen such a well equipped kitchen! The attention to detail is second to none, these cottages really do provide a high quality luxury break. I am not normally one for waking up to early on a holiday but in the location you are, you just cant help but get up before sunrise and enjoy the morning dawn even my fiencee managed it a couple of the mornings. We did plan on getting a taxi in to St Ives on a few evenings but felt that the cottage was that nice and cosy there was really no need to leave.
There really is nothing you can pull up on Gonwin Manor they have done a fantastic job and we can not wait to go back again, sooner rather than later hopefully! Cant wait to see George, Mabel & Chester as well (owners dogs) so friendly with us and our dog, only problem was my fiencee wanted to take them all home with us so that alone means we must go back!

I have just come back from a week at Gonwin Manor and it never disappoints. This is the third year I have been and each time we have stayed in a different cottage, they are all finished to a very high standard and you won't be disappointed. The welcome scones on arrival are worth the stay alone!!!

We arrived to a very warm welcome
a bottle of wine ,chocolates and a cream tea. The cottage was a very high standard, the girls bedroom was nice to apart from years of dust + ear buds which i believe someone also comented on. well its not there now as i hovered it off. The location is wonderful. The only problem with the cottage we were in had 2 very hyper boys that ran up and down the hall way upstairs every morning from 6 am ! Nice on your holiday, Not!!
I told the owner on leaving and was told they had put layered carpet and flooring down to deden the noise. Also the people upstairs had been back 10 times ,so didn't. want to upset them. I would go back but to a different cottage.

Had a fantastic week. Will certainly return. Only small niggle would be wanting to store something above the wardrobe and finding it to be incredibly dusty with a few discarded cotton buds - i guess form a previous guest!

My first wow is for the totally amazing luxury accommodation.
Wow number 2 is for the genuine and very warm welcome we received from Steve and Gill not only when we arrived but every time we saw them.
Wow number 3 is for the stunning setting the cottages reside in. The pictures on the website are excellent but seeing them in the flesh is frankly breath-taking.
It was the perfect place to stay and visit the beautiful cornish coast.

We visit Gonwin Manor on a regular basis and we have never been disappointed. There is always a warm welcome, the barns are to a high standard and comfortable. After a long journey the welcome cream tea is just what we need. The views are stunning and a walk down onto the beach is a must. From the barns you can easily visit St Ives by car or on foot, St Michaels Mount is nearby as is the golf course. On return to the barn you can enjoy a jacccuzi bath and log fire. Heaven! Even dogs are welcome.

Room Tip: WE would recommend Primrose for your own garden and the sea views

We have stayed at Gonwin Manor twice. Our first visit was April 2010 and again in April 2011. We have just booked our 3rd trip for September 2012. We like to travel a lot and this is the only place we have ever stayed more than once and I can honestly see us returning every year to Gonwin because we
absolutely love it! Why? Well from the minute you arrive you will fall in love with this place, the cottages are beautiful and really well appointed. The cream tea, local chocolates and Wine are a lovely touch. We love that we can bring our dog here (Charley our border terrier) who is always warmly greated by George the spaniel with his ball and interesting hair cut! The owners are lovely and nothing is too much trouble, don't miss out on the Cornish pasty supper, they are fantastic and home made by Sharon. The grounds are beautifully kept and the view down to
Porthkidney Sands is one of THE best in the world (and we have travelled the world). From the property you can exit a private gate directly onto the coastal path which brings you directly into St Ives after a pleasant 40 min stroll. We have stayed in both Rose and Lavender and both are beautifully decorated. If you want to cook or bake there is literally every pan or utensil you could ask for and if not just ask and it will appear! Everything from the cutlery and tableware (villeroy and boch) to the bedding and furnishings are top quality. It's a real luxury home from home. Lavender gets excellent sun on the
patio ( yes we've had great weather each April). All in all this is an excellent place, from the luxury accommodation, helpful, friendly and accommodating owners, amazing views to the very beautiful part of our country that Gonwin is situated you will not be disappointed. Thank you Gonwin for two wonderful holidays and see you for many more! Antoinette, Chris and Charley Webb
