Were taken by family for lunch, 4 adults, 2 children. First class service, nothing too much trouble, orders taken promptly, with understanding for the children, and served accurately and considerately.
All of the food was of the highest standard, cooked perfectly and presented nicely.
In summation, a perfect meal served and cooked excellently.
Full marks!

Just the view is worth paying for at the Watch House. But the food is also very good. This is our favourite restaurant in the village. Usually we have their excellent Sunday lunch but it seems in the summer this isn't served. So we went at short notice one evening and they kindly fitted us in. Enjoyed some excellently cooked fish and handout chips and a lovely meaty beef burger topped with bacon and cheese. Hit the spot. And not bad for 42 pounds for three people. This place can be on the pricey side but quality is very good and the view will leave you wide-eyed.

had takeaway cod n chips at the watch house's takeaway window, called watch out. batter brilliant. chips twice cooked and crunchy as hell. ordered a side salad which was dressed beautifully with fresh garlicky vinaigrette, and had watercress in it (a rarity, even in fancy restaurants these days). plus own-made tartare sauce. brilliant, except for the buttered bap which appeared to have been toasted and hence didnt really work as a chip butty.

We recently visited the watch house whilst on holiday in st mawes and liked it so much visited twice and the children also sample the take way which is open between 5-8 each evening. The menu is fresh locally sourced and delicious and also has regular fish and chips and burgers if children aren't quite ready to try the fantastic fish selection. Recommend a visit

Given we should expect good seafood in a seafood restaurant, but our meal here was totally delicious and good value for money. Wished we could have had a second meal there!
