Stopped here as it was so convenient after being caught in the rain at the castle. Welcoming atmosphere, quite boisterous but very friendly and helpful staff.
Food was excellent with generous portions. Very impressed.

Just got home from a short 4 day, 3 night break, staying at the Wootons Inn with my wife, and 10 year old Granddaughter.
The Wootons is a large Inn, within large gardens, with stunning views of the surrounding area.
The Wootons is a family run establishment with Gavin and Hayley only relatively recently acquired the Inn, and you can tell that they have invested a lot of time and money redecorating and modernising.
The food is great, and plenty of it, in fact I had to ask Hayley to cut down on the breakfast portions, as they were so big.
We chose to eat in the Wootons every night for our evening meal as the food is so fresh, and well prepared, also because it is also very child friendly with a very good children's menu.
If you want to sit quietly somewhere away from the bar area, there is a sitting room with sofas and wing back chairs, and also a conservatory.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee.
We can't fault the place, and already have booked for next year.
Just want to give a big big thank you to Gavin and Hayley, and ALL the staff at the Wootons for making our stay so great.
See you all next year.

Called in for evening meal, very rowdy in there, couldn’t get near the bar to order , food was average bit disappointed with the fish n chips as it was in strips rather than one piece.
Waitress was not very charismatic, prob wouldn’t go again, think there are nicer places nearby

I staggered into the pub with a very painful twisted knee. The staff were amazing. They gave me an ice pack, advice and the use of their phone to call 111. Thank you so much. You really helped me and my family out. Lovely pub.

The good stuff - Great setting, nice beer garden out back with nice views over rolling country side. Staff super friendly and a credit to the place.
Not so good, internally this place feels grubby, decoration and furnishing don't match the fabric of the building, feels like it needs an investment, the front conservatory felt like OAP day care unit. Didn't eat here everything looked deep fried.
