Description: Set alongside the beautiful river dart in the estuary at Dartmouth, The Floating Bridge is the latest addition to the Quality Inns portfolio. When on your Devon holiday, be sure to visit this quaint old fashioned pub. Enjoy the warm atmosphere in the bar or restaurant, or why not sit by the river and watch the boats in the Marina or the Higher Ferry transporting the cars to Kingswear. Relax with a glass of wine or Pimm's, why not try the fresh crab salad!

We sat outside in the warm October sun having drinks, then decided to try a snack from the bar menu. We shared olives and feta, and the nachos. Both very tasty and good value for money at £4 each dish. Only complaint was that the staff do not clear the outside tables very often and the empty tables were scavenged by seagulls.

Good pub food here and nice selection of local beers. Friendly staff and quick and efficient too. Was busy quite early in the evening.

Dartmouth has plenty of very expensive restaurants and pubs. The Floating Bridge has recently changed hands and it now serves reasonably priced food. The steaks are delicious (2 for £20 at time of writing), and reminiscent of the old Berni Inns - steak n chips with onion rings and tomatoes. You sometimes have to wait longer as it is always popular - with locals and tourists alike. Other eateries should look at their example and if they too had more competitive pricing then their restaurants would be full.

Don't blame the staff if you have to wait - all restaurants in Dartmouth have difficulty in finding staff during the busy summer months - they do their best!!

Chanced upon this pub as we strolled along the quayside, seating right by the river overlooking the Higher Ferry so a constantly changing scene. We had the ubiquitous fish and chips which were very good (would have rated excellent but for the slightly overcooked chips) and two Peroni's for £19. Would highly recommend.
