“Great property, spectacular view”
Reviewed December 4, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Having booked our 2nd visit to Dartmouth at the last minute we could not have been happier. The property is ideally located in this beautiful town, close to restaurants, shops and pubs. Dartview has everything you could need and more. It's comfortable, well equipped and the views over the river are stunning. We have recommended this place to friends and family already.

“Five star view, whatever the weather”

As many others have said, the view from the balcony and sitting room/kitchen is absolutely stunning. It rained for much of our stay, but we were able to enjoy the view from inside, so all was not lost! Even at night, just watching the lights reflected on the water, as well as several fireworks displays (which we didn’t expect!) was very enjoyable.

The house is compact, but comfortable and the wifi connection is good. It is only a very short walk to many wonderful restaurants, the shops and of course, the waterfront. We were able to park just opposite the house and left the car there for most of our stay, since it is really not needed. The people in Dartmouth were very friendly wherever we went — unusual for a tourist destination. One would think they would be tired of tourists by the time November rolls around! But we felt very welcomed.

“A comfortable home from home but with a much better view”

Having stayed in various places around Dartmouth, we were after somewhere within a short walk to the river front and without too many steps to struggle up with our luggage - this was the place. We were able to park outside to offload (during one of the busiest weeks of the year) and on entering the property were pleasantly surprised by the overall feel. It was a property to simply relax in with a roof terrace more than big enough for our 2 sun loungers and parasol so that we could simply watch the day to day activity on the river and out to sea. Early morning walks along the river front were within a couple of minutes of leaving the property as were the local shops, markets and ferries. All the usual home comforts were available as well as extras such as a dishwasher and washing machine. A parking permit was provided for the main car park and park and ride, so no unexpected costs were incurred - ideal. The owner replied promptly to any queries I had and provided an extensive "user manual" which was very handy. Excellent holiday and can't wait to stay again. Thank you.

Many thanks for the comments - much appreciated. Thought it might be useful to let readers know that the outside space is a balcony straight off the lounge i.e. easier than a roof terrace in terms of access etc. Many thanks.

“Wonderful views of river, town and countryside”
Reviewed August 2, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We spent an absolutely delightful week here at the end of July. The view is everything that's claimed and then some. There's always something interesting to watch on the river or beyond, like the 50 meter 3-masted sailing ship that arrived one evening and left the next. The play of light on the river, the buildings in Kingswear and the hills and fields beyond is endlessly variable, like a sequence of beautiful paintings. Even the ubiquitous seagulls are great fun to watch.

The house itself is compact but was perfect for the two of us. We spent a lot of time watching the view while sitting on the balcony or looking through the open sliding doors. The house is very close to the action downtown, and only about 100 feet from the Rockfish fish and chip takeaway, which we used probably more than was good for us. The Cooperative downtown is convenient for supplies or if you want to do some of your own cooking. Dartmouth Castle is a short and easy walk in the other direction.

We had a great time, and would love to return some day.
