Visited for tea and cake. The cafe is small and friendly; the chaps working there are full of banter. Is dog friendly and seemed popular with locals which always says something. Tea and tea cake was a winner.

So often a 'hot chocolate' is anything but hot chocolate. Usually it is a chocolate flavoured instant drink, made with water and served with cream and marshmallows. Not in The Dart Cafe though! This morning whilst awaiting the arrival of the farewell flight of the Sea King helicopters I enjoyed a wonderful mug of thick and rich superb hot chocolate...Yum Yum! This drink was not served with cream or marshmallows...it didn't need them. This was my first visit to the cafe...it won't be my last. May I add that in response to a previous comment regarding the cafe not accepting card payments...the owners obviously listened. There was a clear note on the door of the cafe stating that card payments are not accepted.

Small cafe by the church. Basic menu but all home cooked. Had an amazing homemade pea and ham soup. Friendly staff, clean surrounds. Delicious food. Has bar licence. Also popular breakfast cafe.

Called in for afternoon tea this afternoon. An excellent choice. The decor is nice without being trendy while the choice of food on the menu was very good. Ordered tea with scones and tea cakes. The Tea cups were very generous with ample tea and milk or a second cup. The food was very good quality with generous portions. The cafe is licenced to sell alcohol and had a very good choice of wine and beers. All that was lacking was a smile from the staff!.
