Its easy to see why this place is so popular, absolutely delicious breakfast. As it says on the menu the food is cooked to order and not fast food and it is absolutely worth the wait. They make doggies welcome which was a definite plus for us. They even offered our doggies their own breakfast sausage which was a lovely touch. My only critism is that the chairs can be a little uncomfortable because most do not have much back support but that certainly doesnt detract from the excellent food and service.

Visited here a number of times over the past few years. Had one of the best full English breakfasts I've had in a long time. Very good coffee. Ample toast with the breakfast-ask for more if you want some. Dog friendly. Stayed for 3 nights in the 'Captains Cabin' at Alfa-excellent view over the Dart from the balcony.

I was visiting Dartmouth for a couple of days of wandering/walking/running as a solo traveller and was lucky enough to book the Crew Quarters. I know Dartmouth very well and Alf's is my favourite place to hang out by far but I had never managed to stay there before.

The Crew Quarters was a delight, a small space which has been hand crafted with care to create a general feeling of well being. Real care has been taken in the planning and realisation and it really is a piece of art! It's strange to imagine wanting to spend time in such a small room but I enjoyed it very much. The view is at roof level but you can see the River and Castle from the top bunk!

It was great to have Alf's just downstairs with the fantastic range of breakfast options. As always, the staff were great and the food incredible.

The breakfast specialists. Victims of their own success. Ultra busy but still good service levels. Quiet expensive for cooked breakfast but an experience. Too busy for me bit staff work hard and service was good

This is definitely the place to go for breakfast. You may have to wait for a table but the wait is worth it.
