Disappointed with a couple of issues
Key did not work in door and when we returned to front desk was told don't put by your mobile which I was not happy as I had not even taking the card out of envelope I did not like the way I was spoken to.
After breakfast we decide to go for a star buck coffee in lounge to find no one their so I asked at desk no one came we went over the road.
We also was told from reception thursday eveing 10.30 that we could get coffee at bar. Wrong would not give so all of us had to go to our rooms to get a cup so the party was over
Very basic hotel, front desk friendly. Bathrooms small and not well appointed. No air conditioning ; no complimentary water. Not enough staff and looked very old fashioned. Location was good though. The Toiletries were inadequate and not of good quality- we used what we had from another hotel prior.
Excellent location opposite Exeter Central train station, near the high street and a short taxi ride (used Apple taxi) to the Uni. I booked directly with the hotel and Gill couldn’t have been more helpful, especially as it was our first visit to Exeter. The suite (Room 106) exceeded expectation and we were most impressed. Our family of 4 enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Hoping to return later this year.
As we start to visit Exeter more often (for the Uni), it was great to stay at the Mercure's central hotel - the Rougemont - right in the middle of things on Queen's Street. The staff were great - especially Helen and Claudia - making us feel right at home on the first of many visits.
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here and I'll make sure that Helen and Claudia have seen your kind comments.
We look forward to welcoming you back on your future visits.
