“Great hotel with great hosts.”
Reviewed 11 July 2011

Just returned from two nights at the Walnut Lodge . Everything about the hotel is first class.Friendly welcome, spotless rooms, great breakfasts and the best selection of tea and coffee we have ever found in any hotel room.Location is also good with a comfortable 10 min walk to the seafront and onsite parking, this hotel is easily the best we have stayed at in this area and we will return for sure.

We were greeted by Neil at Walnut Lodge with a very pleasant and warm smile who asked if we wanted a hand with our cases.First impression's always give you an idea of what to expect and we were right Lynda was equally as pleasant and couldn't do enough to help make our stay so good. It's easy to see why from the modern decor, cleanliness.and choice of breakfast (full english breakfast fantastic)
this hotel was awarded a 4 star gold award. From the hotel it was approx' 15-20 min's walk round to the harbour, but there's always a bus to jump on if you prefer.
There's lots of attractions in the area such as Kents Caverns,Bygones, and Torre Abbey just round the corner well worth a visit. Buses run into Babbacombe Paignton and Brixham quite regular (make sure you get the number 12 bus not the 12A which takes about 3/4 hour longer ) Torquay town is very large, lots of bars restaurants and shops,All in all a very enjoyable short stay and would definitely return to Walnut Lodge.....Lin and Ray.

Room Tip: There is 7 rooms but we heard no noise at all during our stay.

the hotel is very comfortable and spotless clean.
Linda and Neal made us feel at home and helped us a lot with the luggage, ordering taxis for us and giving us advices on what to see and to do.
Their breakfast is absolutely delicious I would go back to eat again their egg and bacon

wonderful stay...pity we cannot go back this year

Thanks :-)

This B & B is extremely clean. Rooms are tastefully furnished and offer every facility you need - Hospitality Tray, hairdryer, TV, Ironing board and even a fridge! Linda is a lovely hostess and could not have been more helpful with everything we asked for. The room was spotlessly clean and breakfast offered a good variety with generous portions and plenty of options for vegetarians. The B&B is situated in a quiet location, close to Torre and Torre Abbey. It was further from the sea front and station than we expected, but there is a bus service which runs every 15 mins during the day and every half hour in the evening, and drops you 5 mins walk away. I would definintely recommend Walnut Lodge and Linda is fantastic!

A real find! A very comfortable stay which offered all amenities that are important to us - spotlessly clean, a modern bathroom with a great shower, good quality furnishings all topped off with a decent breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome. The owners should diversify and offer courses to other establishments on how to run a B&B!

We have again enjoyed yet another fantastic stay with Lynda and Neil at the Walnut Lodge in Torquay. This was our third stay with them, and we would always highly recommend it. Not only do you receive a warm welcome, the rooms are fantastic, the hotel is warm and comfortable, and the breakfasts are wonderful. Yvonne & Derek Fricker......Murcia, SPAIN
