A big negative with the Cumberland is the very limited parking in the hotel which will cost £8 per night if not booked directly with the hotel. If there is no parking available in the hotel carpark it is possible to use the on-street parking at £12 a night.
On arrival was greeted by friendly reception staff and the initial booking in was simple. Unfortunately, it took a further three visits back to reception from the fourth floor before they could get the key card to open our room door.
The room was a sea view with balcony which was spacious and airy. Generally clean but needed a good dusting.
The first night ate in the beautiful restaurant overlooking the pool, Fine service excellent waiting staff and good food. 9/10 Unable to book either restaurant on the second night due to the large amount of Christmas parties booked for the evening. Managed to get a Club sandwich from the bar which I would give 4/10. Both Breakfasts were good quality with a large selection of everything. 10/10. Plentiful staff in attendance.
Generally a very enjoyable visit to a splendid well-run hotel.More
