Went to the Oceanarium on a Sunday afternoon. The weather wasn’t great so perfect was to entertain the kids. They were really engaged and the staff seemed really passionate. Some of the interactive features were temperamental and some areas could do with a facelift (eg kids play area) given the cost of entry but overall a perfect way to get the kids learning and they were enjoying themselves.

It was a windy day and we spent a long time sheltering in here! It is fairly small and could have been done in under an hour really but we dragged it out quite a bit. Some interesting and diverse animals - not just fish!

It's small but totally worth the money. I didn't realise sea turtles were that big.
The people that work there are very knowledgeable and there are many things to interact with. X

The only reason they don’t get full marks is the cafe. The fish, turtles, otters and penguins all get full marks. Well publicised and adhered to feeding times add to the beauty of this small attraction. You can go in and out all day so nip back for different feedings after your initial walk around.
The cafe was ok but rigid in that I couldn’t have a large takeaway latte because it want on his till. Only tea could be large. Not sure if the cafe is owned by the attraction.

We went to Oceanarium for my sons 1st birthday. Whilst he didn’t have a clue what was going on he absolutely loved watching the fish and sharks swimming past the windows. Often holding his arms out and giggling away.

All the staff we came across were very polite and friendly, and during the ‘Meet the penguins’ talk were very informative. They clearly enjoy being a part of the animals lives and enjoy what they do.

The reason I didn’t think it was ‘excellent’ was the size. It appears small from the outside and isn’t much larger on the inside. There is one main tank which houses a few sharks, turtles and an array of fish with a walk through tunnel. Aside from this there are a few other tanks and a penguin enclosure.

I would recommend to anyone that if you can get vouchers it is beneficial. We managed to get £30 of vouchers for £7.50 in Tesco clubcard points. Bargain!!

All in all it was a good couple of hours and having read previous reviews we got what we expected. We knew it wouldn’t be massive and we knew there wasn’t a massive array of sea life. I would definitely recommend.
