My wife and I and two friends visited this hotel on a short break offer from Peel Hotels and were amazed at the value of the package. We were allocated a ground floor room which opened out to a patio and gardens with comfy whicker chairs and table. The executive room
was well equiped as was the bathroom. Our only complaint was that the bedside lights were too far away from the bed and it was necessary to get out of bed to switch them off. Our food was very good and so was the choice. The staff were attentive and courtious. Our friends room was not situated overlooking the garden and was close to the road and could be overlooked by passers-by although the quality of the furniture and fittings were excellent. Overall we were very satisfied and would quite happily visit again. Currently Peel Hotels are offering the same package again and would be worth looking at. .

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor garden room

My husband & I spent 2 nights at this Hotel on the Gold Voucher Promotion - We had a great stay. The staff were very friendly, food was superb and the rooms were lovely, very clean and tidy. The interior of the hotel was a little tired in places but overall very well presented and well maintained. There were plenty of comfortable seats in the Lounge where you can have a coffee or a drink from the bar.

We would definitely be looking to go there again!

Room Tip: Try to avoid Rooms on the 3rd floor - these rooms are smaller due to the eaves in the Loft - see if...

We visited Bournemouth and stayed at the Norfolk Royale for a two night stay. We were realy impressed with the hotel and accommodation: the rooms were clean and fresh with really comfortable beds and loads of cushions (great for reading in bed). We had booked dinner on both nights and were truly impressed with the meal: great food, good choice and service was friendly and professional - complements to the Chef and kitchen staff. Breakfast was equally impressive with a great choice of cooked dishes alongside the buffet.
The hotel facilities were good: clean general areas and plenty of seating. The outside sheltered seating was a boon as we had chosen a really warm weekend in March. The swimming pool was a great hit for a squad of young rugby players staying in the hotel, and was fully used that night and kept all the youngsters occupied. Underground car parking was provided: accessed via the road adjacent street, but linked directly to the hotel garden via an unusual garden staircase. The charge for this secure parking was £12 night.
All the hotel staff were friendly and the Receptionist went out of her way to find us a garage for an emergency tyre change.
Located centrally for the shops and not too far from the beach, I loved the style of this hotel. Having once been the summer home of the Duke of Norfolk, it has retained its 19th Century splendour whilst providing stylish accommodation.
An excellent choice of accommodation which I would recommend with distinction.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor overlooking the garden and we found it really quiet even with the windows o...

Beautiful lounge, conservatory, coffee areas with plenty of comfortable seating and feather pillows. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful but little or no information on hotel, facilities or area in the room. Convenient location just meters from the square, shops, lower gardens and bus stops. Ate Table D;Hote both nights which was superb, breakfast equally as good with good quality produce.

Room -We had an executive room facing side street, very dark with bileous yellow and beige decor so quite depressing but very well equipped with lots of courtesy drinks and Moulton Brown bathing products. Awful quilt made of polyester and so thick it sat on top like a lilo. like most hotels rooms far too hot and no aircon so very uncomfortable to sleep.
The old single glaze sash windows opened a little but then the frame rattled so badly you had to close them. The side street was incredibly noisy and seemed to attract boy racers with their souped up cars and motorbikes to race backwards and forwards till the early hours when the raucous drunks started their own noise. Very busy street all day and night

Leisure facilities disjointed to say the least. Decent to basement area to find changing area, steam and sauna but then you have to double back and go down further corriders to the pool and jacuzzi. When you return it is very cold and uncomfortable. Communal shower area opposite sauna doesnt lock so your bits are on show if someone opens the door. Designed by someone who clearly does not use the facilities..

Wouldn't stay again because of the noise element although the receptionist did say garden rooms were quieter.

Room Tip: Choose a garden or courtyard room if not take sleeping tablets. Ask for a two towels from reception...

We stopped at this hotel using the peel hotel group gold block promotion. On arrival on Saturday lunch time we were met at reception by happy and friendly reception staff, who informed us that the room was not just ready, but if we would like to leave our bags at the porters desk it would be fine and arranged help to carry in our cases. A short walk took us into town for a spot of lunch [weatherspoons in the square good food, large assortment of drinks, and very reasonably priced).
we returned back to the hotel around 2.30 and the room was ready as promised, the room was very clean with an king size bed which was very comfortable, a large bath room with overhead shower, and large assortment of toiletries, the underfloor heating was a bonus, as was at least 6 towels (nice touch) also we had a large flat screen TV, on which the radio worked, as we never seem to find a hotel radio that does. The snack tray, had a good assortment of tea coffee, and biscuits, with the kettle, there was also a mini bar.
Evening dinner gave a good choice from the menu, the food was hot well served and plentiful, with a good wine list. Later in the evening we visited the bar which was quiet and had a nice veranda to sit in.
After great nights sleep (although the hotel is very near the centre of town we never heard any sound either from the hotel or outside)
Breakfast was buffet style, with full English, contental, or both if you wished, lots of good coffee, tea pastries, crispy rolls, fruit and yogurt.
Outside in the courtyard is a small swimming pool, warm and clean along with the jacuzie, and easy chairs. A good point of this hotel is the attached underground car park, which, although is chargeable is very secure .and only accessible by code.
to sumerise, this is an old classy hotel, quiet and well run, with a friendly and helpful staff, is only 2 mins from the town centre, and five mins walk through then gardens to the beach.(when you walk to the beach ,take some nuts for the tame squirrels, that feed out of your hand in the valley gardens).the fully inclusive apart from drinks ,gold promotion is superb value, .the hotel is highly recommended, and as such we will return again in the near future. on a personal note ,I can never understand why, when people use a hotel like this, they moan on about no internet room access, I say to these people get a life ,leave your lap top at home for once, and enjoy a few relaxing days of seaside air, without the hassle and the cant manage to last 5 mins without texting all and sundry on there mobile phone brigade.

Room Tip: Room 230 on the 2nd floor is large and bright, with big windows that open. Roman Catholic Church is...

Stayed for 2 nights and we were most impressed by the welcome, the cleanliness, and the general ambience of this truly traditional English hotel. Our room was on the ground floor with a patio overlooking the garden. Very quiet and spotlessly clean. The reception area and the lounge, with deep leather armchairs and large chandeliers, was very impressive. Dinner was good but the hot breakfast could have been hotter. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Bournemouth with buses running frequently to all local parts within 10 minutes walk. The £12 per night parking fee was perhaps a little excessive but security was assured under the hotel. Looking forward to return again.

Room Tip: Ground floor overlooking garden

The hotel is very old and creaky. I liked the ambiance, but the rooms were very dated and the beds very uncomfortable. No wireless access within the rooms made it difficult to do work while in the rooms, and sleeping was not always easy with all of the noises of the hallway creaking and people wlaking around above you. The location is great as all of the hot spots within Bournemouth are within walking distance.
