My hubby and i have just had a 3 night stay . What a lovely place ! We stayed in room 6,which was a double en-suite room at the front of the house with a great sea-view . The room was spotless and had everything we needed, big comfy bed, fluffy towels,tea/coffe etc and even some kitkats ! the room was very warm and cosy which was lovely to return to after a day/night out . Its only a few minutes walk to the famous 'lanes'and all the shops/bars/restaurants etc .very close to the pier and the new big wheel .The 'sussex' breakfast was fab !! there was also a great selection of cereals/fresh fruit/yoghurt/honey/jams etc . The owners are friendly, down to earth people who will do their best to ensure you enjoy your stay. We had previously stayed at the 'Thistle'which was very over-priced and not a patch on 'five' we will definately be returning some time soon and are glad we have found this lovely cosy place to stay in Brighton, all the previous reviews are true........so get this booked you wont be disappointed !! Thank-you

Room Tip: sea-view is fab, also might be worth ringing the hotel for a better deal

Spent a number of weeks here when I was working down in Brighton. It's a lovely old Georgian townhouse in a large square in Kemptown just a stone's throw from the sea. Rooms are well presented and each is different to the others. The breakfasts are excellent with plenty of food from local suppliers and are provided in the beautiful large room on the ground floor. The owners Caroline and Simon provide a very warm welcome and make you feel at home.

We booked the hotel for our families to stay Friday and Saturday for my daughter's wedding in Brighton. Caroline and Simon were extremely welcoming and thoughtful hosts and made us feel at home for our exciting weekend. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast and accommodation were excellent. The food being plentiful and locally sourced and the rooms spotless. Their kindness and professionalism made our stay very enjoyable and I highly recommend to all.

I have worked in the travel industry for almost 20 years and can honestly say I have rarely visited a hotel run with as much attention to detail, warmth and love as the 5 Hotel in Brighton. Great location for exploring this unique town, spotless rooms but the best bit is the wonderful communal breakfast! Caroline & Simon are superb hosts and always ready with advise on where to go / what to do in Sussex. You will not find a warmer welcome or better value for money.

My partner and I stayed at the Five Hotel for a couple of nights in February. Upon arrival, the owner was very welcoming, offered lots of information and tips about the area, and showed us up to our room.

We had a lovely room, with bay windows overlooking the sea. Clean, tidy and cosy.
Breakfasts were great, with organic and locally produced eggs, yoghurts and juices. We enjoyed sitting around a dining room table with the guests and the owners all chatting -a change from the often characterless hotel dining rooms where people tend to keep to themselves and don't really interact with each other.

That's not to say you'll be the odd one out if you're hungover/ tired/ not a morning person- it's just a really nice and amiable atmosphere!

Price was reasonable, location was great, and the individuality and friendly styles were appreciated!
