This is a beautiful place on a lovely quiet street in our favourite area. There's lots of space, very comfortable and everything has been thought of. Excellent value.

“Great relaxing holiday”
Reviewed August 29, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely Georgian apartment. The homely feel of the place made us feel at home from the moment we stepped through the door. The décor and the many paintings and art books made it feel very special. The bedding and towels were just lovely and the large, bright and airy rooms were a pleasure to stay in. Our little boy loved his big comfy, bed and bedroom – he enjoyed playing with all of his toys in there happily and safely.

As a small family with a five year old we rely on home cooking a lot and the kitchen wasn’t ideal for this due to lack of workspace. That said, it is the perfect breakfast kitchen and for people who prefer to eat out, so don’t let that discourage you!

We live in a flat with no garden and we were excited about having a garden of our own for the week. The private garden was not actually part of the house, but across the road from the building and unavailable at the time of our visit – I know this was being dealt with though and the owners were so helpful when we spoke to them. It was a shame though as having a garden was one of the selling points when we chose this holiday home.

However, these are minor issues. The fact is we had a lovely stay. The apartment was a great environment in which to kick back after a day exploring the area. It really felt like home. Our little boy loved it – especially that big bath! He usually hates baths!

The apartment was a short walk from the seaside and it only took 25 minutes to walk to Hastings which was a great place for our son to explore its many exciting activities. We had a great time looking for all the places from the movie Byzantium as well as checking out some of the more traditional coastal scenery!

The welcome pack was also very useful and gave us ideas of things to do in the area. We would absolutely recommend the holiday home, and Hastings. Thank you!

The flat was lovely and filled with so many beautiful things, the welcome pack was filled with usual info both about the flat and surrounding area, and it was nice to have some tea, etc so we didn't have to rush to the shop so we could have a cuppa. The children enjoyed looking at the items in your lovely home and learning a bit about the world. The bath was amazing and I feel every home should have one lol. All in all it was a lovely place to stay and we really enjoyed our holiday

“Beautiful old apartment if you like shabby chic”

I have stayed in many holiday rentals both here and abroad but this experience was quite unique. I think the owners should decide if this is their home or a holiday let unfortunately it can't be both. Its nice to have some food left for emergencies but not a fridge full of comestibles belonging to someone else. Most people expect a wardrobe of some kind to hang their clothes its a little strange when its jammed packed with another persons garments. But this whole apartment was strange. Beautiful bath that takes forever and copious gallons of water to fill, a shower that only fits people of a small stature and nowhere to put anything because the bathroom shelf like every other surface in the flat is crammed full of the owners belongings. The bed in the front bedroom was quite comfy but the one in the back room left a lot to be desired as did the pillows. Well three pillows of sorts and a cushion pad stuffed into a pillow case all of which should have been thrown out many years ago! Please owners treat us to some new pillows, even the very cheapest pillows would be a huge improvement. The same goes for the towels which were small and old. I do think the owners are genuinely nice, caring, sharing people just very impractical and perhaps do not quite understand what most people expect from a holiday let. I do appreciate this is a reasonably priced let and my deposit was returned immediately also the owners couldn't have been more helpful to deal with but as a holiday let I don't think it works very well.

We are really sorry that the flat was not to your liking
this is the first feedback we have had of this nature
most people are happy with the fact that the place is homely
We have had a word with the cleaner who forgot to clean out the fridge on this occasion . The wardrobe in the big room is supposed to be locked the other one is empty for peoples clothes which is why you saw the clothes there ! We have replaced the pillows with the ones which were in the cupboard in the big room , i think we had some visitors who had a feather allergy so did that. But thanks for your feedback all the same. It is still an amazing bargain at 12.50 per night for each person so a little quirks can I suppose be acceptable ! Cheers

Absolutely beautiful. My mouth dropped when I walked in, a massive apartment ! So many beautiful trinkets and things to explore, wonderful collection of books and DVDs! The perfect atmosphere to read Tennyson!
The beds are comfortable, the apartment is warm and I would love to stay here again, perfect place! Thank you so much for making this beautiful apartment available for such a reasonable price! Especially as it is so close to the sea, the railway station and shops!

“Clean, comfortable, spacious, relaxing space”
Reviewed January 8, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

We loved staying here and although we could pick a few tiny holes, we can't wait to go back. I have given 5 stars to places in the past to places that have plenty of uncracked wine glasses and no missing light bulbs but give me the big squashy sofa, huge television, enormous bath, floor to ceiling windows, etc etc any day. Not to mention the very reasonable cost. I had my doubts about the location beforehand but its fine. Easy walking distance to the railway station, the sea, an interesting park, independent shops, a co-op, etc. Hastings old town is also in walking distance. Yet the street was very quiet, as was the flat, and street parking wasn't a problem (and free). Finally, the wifi worked fine.

“A Perfect Place”
Reviewed December 15, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We stayed in this beautiful apartment for five days in late November, and have never felt so at home in a rented holiday place before. The apartment is absolutely beautiful with enormous rooms, high ceilings and is decorated with so many interesting and quirky things that you discover new things to look at every day. Filled with interesting books, magazines and dvds, and a kitchen filled with the basic food items - you feel you are just taking care of a friends house while they are out of town.

The area is really nice with beautiful buildings and quiet streets, and at a short walking distance to the sea, shops, take-aways etc. The beautiful old town is only a 20 min walk away, with lots of old nice pubs, shops where you can buy quality food and small interesting shops selling antiques, books, records etc.

The owner was very helpful and the information left in the apartment was full of good recommendations - for us who had never been to the area before it was perfect so we could go straight to the good things about Hastings/St Leonards, and skip the bad ones.

Thank you for a perfect stay, we hope to come back some day!!
