“The delights of Rye right on the doorstep!”

Really enjoyed our stay at Tilling View. House is bright, very clean and well-equipped. It's ideally situated for exploring the delights of beautiful Rye - everything within short walking distance. Being able to park the car right outside the front door is a real bonus too. We were already aware of the industrial estate at the end of the road so the traffic didn't bother us at all.
Would definitely recommend the place. Thank you Susan - can't wait to return!

Tilling View was an excellent base for exploring East Sussex and West Kent. The house is well equipped and laid out and, important in Rye, has two parking spaces. Mediaeval towns were not designed to take cars obviously so this is a real bonus. Rye itself is beautiful and the surrounding area varied and interesting. Lots to do from biking, swimming and walking to visiting places like Sissinghurst,Great Dixter and Dungeness.

“Good place to discover East Sussex and Kent”
Reviewed August 23, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Lovely house for a small family with all what you need to enjoy the stay. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped. Just few steps away are several great restaurants.
Rye is a good place to stay if you want to explore East Sussex and Kent. There is even a sand beach near the city which is a good place to relax from a busy day.

“Comfortable, clean and convenient”
Reviewed August 9, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely clean newly decorated house. It was bigger than we expected and was well equipped. It was lovely to be able to leave the car in front of the house and walk into Rye. Lots of great gardens to visit (Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Derek Jarman's) within easy reach.

“Fantastic location”
Reviewed August 9, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

I've recently returned from a short break at Tilling view. This house has a great location just across the road from the town centre which made access to Rye very easy as there is limited public parking available. The property is very clean, comfortable & well equipped. The owner has clearly taken time to provide everything you would need. Would point out the step from the dining room into the kitchen is steep & might not suit anyone with mobility issues. Hope to return sometime to visit places we didn't manage to fit in

“Perfect location”
Reviewed July 4, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This cottage is one of 8 Victorian Style terraces, set in a row right next to the river ( well it's very tidal , sometimes mud as is typical of English rivers.)

The cottage is perfect, it looks very recently renovated, very clean and well maintained.
The town of Rye is just steps away as are restaurants and pubs.
The owners are very helpful, in fact one day we had TV problems and within hours the owner had arrived to fix the problem.
Both bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs.
The " second bathroom" is just a toilet in the laundry room.

The kitchen has most of what you would want, as a keen cook a blender would have been nice, but hey I am on holidays.
There's loads of lovely food shops around an a surprising good supermarket not far away.
We stopped at Salt Farm Market on the way in and bought Romney Marsh Lamb which was stunning.
The only negative is the fact there is some kind of industrial estate virtually next door. The road out front is not paved and when we were there there were a few potholes full if water.
The heavy duty trucks, started arriving around 7 am and went all day until around 8 or 9 PM. The main bedroom faces this road, so don't expect to sleep in. Night time is lovely and quiet.

Tilling View is a lovely place to stay in Rye, very clean and comfortable and a stones throw from Rye's quaint streets, shops and cafes. We would love to return sometime.
