Bourton on the Water is a lovely village in an ideal location for travelling around the Cotswolds. The house is one of the cleanest we have stayed in and has everything needed for a weeks break, including a private patio, ideal for a BBQ on a summers evening!! We have no hesitation in recommending a stay here and would visit again if we wanted to stay in the area!!!
Our 3rd stay in this lovely cottage. Every bit as good as the previous 2 visits. Spotlessly clean and well appointed, exactly everything you could ever need and more. Tastefully decorated and has 2 bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. A short stroll to the centre of Bourton on the Water, just perfect in every way!
This is the most wonderful cottage, perfectly decorated, pictured exactly as it is, and with great amenities. We should know because we stayed there for SIX wonderful weeks. The kitchen is nicely equipped and we did do a lot of cooking. There was plenty of hot water, the internet was reliable, Lynsey, the owner, was always available if we needed her. There is a HDMI cable attached to the television so you can stream from your laptop. The cottage is about a 5 minute walk to the center of Bourton and set back from the major street which makes it peaceful and quiet. The bonus of the location is that the cottage is across the lane, an alley to us Americans, from the Moustrap Inn. On many occasions we strolled across the lane for dinner and more often, for lattes in the morning. I'd go back in a flash and stay just as long.
Excellent cottage in fantastic location. Would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Bourton-On-The-Water.
Booking process easy with good communications.
Stayed 2nd wk in July, village is very busy on a weekend and busy during the week but cottage is on the quiet side, away from the bustle. Great location, within a 5min walk of the centre. Great for touring the Cotswolds and then a walk into the village after 5pm for a meal and drink when the busses etc have gone.
Can't fault the cottage, easily the best we've stayed at in twenty years.
Nice quiet pub with food nearly next door.
Plenty of footpaths leading out of the cottage for walks. Will definitely be on our list of places to return to.
fantastic, spacious spotlessly clean cottage situated down a quiet lane within a 5 min walk from the centre of a beautiful village. (the photos on the site do not do this cottage justice)
The owner Lynsey is the perfect host and very obviously takes great pride in making your stay as perfect as possible
I would recommend this cottage to anyone planning a stay in this part of the Cotswolds
We booked this Cottage the very same day we arrived. Lynsey the owner was extremely helpful in getting the cottage ready for us, even down to the milk in the fridge and the box of my favourite chocolates. The minute we stepped through the door I was in awe of this place. We spent 4 nights in the cottage and to say we were comfortable is an understatement. I love everything about it, I love the warmth of the carpets on the stairs, landing and bedrooms, the log burner which was built up for our arrival, the comfortable bed, the beautiful kitchen, lounge and dining room. The village had an array of quirky shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops, you are spoilt for choice. The walks from the village are well documented and easy to follow, the walk from Bourton on the wold, passing lower slaughter and on to Stow on the wold was a beautiful walk and well worth the effort when you arrive in the village of Stow. We caught the 801 bus back which brings you right back in to the village. Lovely we're Slsughter is one of the prettiest villages I have ever been to.
To sum this up, an amazing cottage and village and I don't want to go home.
