“Better for 2 than 4”

I bumped my head, repeatedly, on all 3 doors from the lounge. Change of levels through a low doorway, no warning notices and no padding. The upstairs loo only disposes of liquids, we booked in part as we wanted 2 bathrooms. Difficult to turn off taps in downstairs bathroom. Great welcome, lovely spot, good restaurants, owners keen to make you welcome and fix any problems.
Good for two people, no children, and under 60!

“Brilliant cottage in an idyllic location”
Reviewed March 3, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

Autumn Cottage is in Painswick which is a lovely old Cotswold town. There are restaurants and pubs all within easy walk and it is right on the Cotswold Way. The cottage is beautifully decorated with loads of original features and stylishly furnished. There are two double bedrooms up a steep staircase which seemed to get easier the more times I climbed it! It was great that both of us had such great rooms.

The cottage is well equipped and a generous basket of goodies was provided to get us started. Thoroughly recommend the cottage and the locality for a weekend or longer.

“Wonderful stay in cosy Cotswold cottage for Christmas”
Reviewed December 30, 2011 for a stay in December 2011

My wife and I stayed at Autumn Cottage with our 11-month old son for four nights over Christmas 2011. The cottage is very cosy and warm and has everything for a memorable stay in the Cotswolds. We particularly liked the living room with the fire and the the well equipped kitchen (including a washing machine for clothes). The living room was nicely decorated for Christmas. The two bedrooms are on the upper two floors - we found this was a perfect set-up as our son slept in one room (in a travel bed we brought) and we slept in the other - the stairs are steep but this did not prove a problem with a child of this age. The owner met us the night we arrived and there was a welcome pack which was very thoughtful. The cottage has off-street parking and is a short walk from the town center where there are a couple of good pubs which gave us a warm welcome and several restaurants whih looked very inviting.
