What a visual feast : the many, many Yews so lovingly tended and sculptured - I just could not stop taking photos as I know the time and effort it takes to maintain shape to even the smallest of bushes.
Congratulations to all who tend these trees and the garden.

I got married here and it's a nice church in an amazing setting the beautiful village of Painswick. The yew trees surrounding the church are also nice.

This is a lovely church with a beautiful churchyard and its 99 yew trees that have a special history on their own. After my rather disappointing visit of Gloucester Cathedral I was reconciled here, as this church is not only well maintained but the parishioners I met were very friendly, welcoming and excellently prepared for their visitors. Considering the fact that the church is rather small, there was a surprising variety of leaflets in European and non-European languages.
By the way: variation is the motto here: Watch out for the kneelers and the tombstones.

Interesting environs and history. Worth half an hour of your time if your in Painswick. A walk through the village, for its historic and architectural value, is well worth making the trip.
