“Christmas in the Cotswolds”
Reviewed January 14, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We spent 2 weeks at this charming, idyllic, chocolate box cottage over Christmas & New Year 2015/2016 with my in laws. It was absolutely perfect for 2 couples having an ensuite downstairs very suitable for older people who dont want to climb the stairs. The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm, lovely welcoming package on arrival & also very cosy. We even had a decorated Christmas tree and tasteful Christmas decorations already put up which was a lovely surprise. It had all the mod cons that you would require, well equipped kitchen and everything was in good working order. The landlords were extremely helpful allowing us an early check in at no extra cost as we flew into Heathrow at 6am. The booking proceedure & key collection all very efficient & smooth. The cottage has a lovely friendly neighbour who was very helpful on local knowledge & chatty. Situated walking distance to Lords of the Manor hotel and a short driving distance to a lovely pub in Lower Slaughter (must book in busy periods) there are also lots of lovely walks in the area. Although it rained heavily whilst we were there it really didnt matter we had a most enjoyable family time and would most definately return. Oh one more thing the showers are powerful and hot we never ran out of hot water. In fact my husband wants to move in!

“Incredible place to stay!”
Reviewed September 13, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

My wife and I and two friends stayed here recently for four nights. What a well maintained home. We all agreed -- it doesn't get better than this. The owners were easy to deal with and the home was spotless. They even left us a beautiful cake! The location is super and the next door neighbor has lived in Upper Slaughter his entire life! Would return here in a heartbeat!

“Beautiful cottage”

I recently stayed in this beautiful cottage with my husband, 2 adult children, son in law and grandson for 2 nights. Photos online do not do it justice as it is so much nicer in "real life". All 3 bedrooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The kitchen has all modern appliances and well equipped. Location is ideal and is around the corner from the Lords of the Manor hotel. We ate in the Lower Slaughter Manor which we all enjoyed as we did our visits to the Slaughters Inn. The owners could not have been more helpful to me with some queries I had before our arrival. The welcome chocolate cake was a lovely surprise (and delicious too). Both Upper and Lower Slaughter are very pretty and picturesque. I would highly recommend this beautiful quaint cottage to anyone wanting to stay in the Cotswolds. We all
loved our stay and will hopefully return one day.

“Fabulous week in this cottage”

With our family of 6 people we spent a week in the Cotswold's and stayed in this beautifully renovated cottage. All modern needs are made, and the interior is very cozy. And the position is 5 stars. Three bedrooms with comfortable beds, a shower room with toilet and a spacious full bathroom. A welcome cake as surprise in a drum, we almost forgot to open. Heating is controlled remotely by the owner and sometimes it is warmer than you want or bit chilly.
Very recommended.

The Slaughters make a lovely base to explore the Cotswolds with nice walks around the surrounding area. The cottage was charming and welcoming, extremely well appointed, warm and spotlessly clean. The owners have obviously spent a lot of time and effort getting tha cottage to this standard.
A relaxing break, that we will definitely repeat.

“Fabulous cottage in beautiful location”

We recently stayed at No 8 for a long weekend with our two young children aged 8 and 5. The cottage is absolutely beautiful, the attention to detail by the owners was outstanding, well decorated whilst still feeling like a home from home, a wonderful log burner, crisp fresh towels and even a chocolate cake, which I must say went down extremely well. No 8 is well positioned in the beautiful village of Upper Slaughter, a village surrounded by outstanding scenery for memorable walks in the countryside. The cottage gives you all the amenities for a home cooked meal whilst being in walking distance from some very nice eateries including; The Slaughters Inn and The Lords of The Manor Hotel. We would highly recommend this amazing cottage for couples, friends or families, it really does cater for all.

“A beautiful cottage that felt like home (only much better!)”

We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. The cottage was well decorated with all mod cons but still felt very homely. The cottage was well located in Upper Slaughter which is a beautiful little village. The owners were very accommodating and made the booking process very simple and our stay very comfortable. Would love to go back sometime soon and I would highly recommend this cottage to friends and family.
