Where to start? It's shabby and dirty. Scratched key cards that don't work, stained carpet in the hallway, fittings coming off the wall in the bathroom, stains on the duvet (that had no cover on it), the cheapest plastic kettle imaginable, hot and stuffy rooms with just a single noisy freestanding fan for the 4 of us.
The night we stayed, there was a major problem with the water tanks and we were told there would be no running water in the room until about 2am. We were offered a full refund to go elsewhere, but it was very late and my kids needed sleep. We were given free bottles of water and were able to use the toilet in the restaurant next door. In the event, we were given a full refund on booking out anyway.
But pity the poor Hungarian gentleman, booking in at the same time as us, who couldn't understand why his keycard wouldn't work and failed to grasp the situation about the water. He was laughed at by the receptionists for his lack of English and I felt deeply humiliated to be British. I would never, ever stay in this hotel again.More
