Having stayed in travelodges before I expected more. This one is in serious need of renovation and fixing of a damp problem that is affecting the top floor. Also it was ridiculously hot in the room with the window only being able to open an inch and no ventilation. I dread to think what it was like in the heatwave.

I stayed one night on the business floor (top floor) and it was so hot! The pointless desk fan made little difference but you can't have the window open at night as there's some sort of humming/generator going all night. The toilet seat was loose, as was the toilet roll holder, stains on the shelf in the bathroom, the toilet kept blocking, the key had to be replaced as it stopped working twice, scuffs on the wall, carpets need a good clean and there is no light near the mirror for applying make-up. You have good lighting in the bathroom but as it's so hot in the room I wanted to sit near the fan to get ready but where the mirror is on the wall in the room I was in, it was in an alcove so quite dark. With so many other reviews all saying the same thing I wonder why Travelodge aren't sorting out this hotel. The only upside is that the staff are friendly.

Room Tip: Business floor is quiet but very hot

This hotel is well placed to stay in before taking ferry. Couldn’t be closer. Neat and tidy travel lodge. Restaurant on site. Good parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant was Hungry Horse which is child friendly. Cheap and cheerful.

We had a little difficulty in finding the hotel using our Sat nav which took us to the one way restricted access lane ok but not into the hotel grounds which are set back and behind. The hotel is good all round and ideal for a stopover being only 15 minutes from the ferry.

Arrived on Friday night area isn't very pleasant the Hotel isn't well kept, scruffy and dirty. The reception area isn't clean. The receptionist was welcoming and we were told about the facilities and directed to our room. The lift was dirty and worn out the corridor to the room was dirty with a horrible smelling carpet. It took four attempts to get the key card to work. The room was boiling hot and a desk fan was on full blast with the window open. The bathroom was reasonably clean but was scruffy and not well maintained the toilet seat was loose and the extractor fan didn't work. The room had three beds a double & two singles which were not of good quality and very uncomfortable. Overall very poor and we had to pay £157.00 for the pleasure. Very disappointing and I will not be staying in a Travelodge again if I can help it!
