Owner description: Featuring world famous ships HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860. Plus visit HMS Alliance, the only remaining WW2 era British ocean going submarine, and the M33, the sole remaining British veteran of the bloody Dardanelles Campaign of 1915-1916. Also including the National Museum Royal Navy Portsmouth, Action Stations, the Harbour Tours, andd the Jutland Exhibition, there's plenty to see and do. Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a great day out for all the family. Situated within a working Naval Base, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is the only place in the world to see the Royal Navy past, present and future - a must see for anyone visiting the south of England.

No visit to Portsmouth is complete without a visit to the Historic Dockyard but be prepared for lots of walking and climbing up and down! Certainly not a trip for less abled but well worth the effort to view all the fabulous ships and artefacts the Dockyard has to offer. We loved viewing the ships and also catching glimpses of current warships in dock!

After seeing the Mary Rose back in the 80’s I wasn’t sure what to expect but they have done the beautiful old ship justice, a fantastically designed building filled to the rafters with exhibits, the all attraction tickets doesn’t include the Mary Rose, but as you go in through the gates it is clear it is a separate ticket, but it was worth every penny, and your ticket is valid for a year so you can return again and again, there is so much to take in we will return. So much for every age, interactive screens everywhere. I thought we would be in there about an hour and found 3 hours not enough time to see it all, best day out for long time. And most of all a fitting tribute to all the souls lost onboard.

Fantastic history, which is still LIVE, so walking around this historic place imagining what it was like hundreds of years ago should not be missed. We should be proud of our heritage and understand where and why we are here to today benefiting from their endeavours of hard graft and the huge sacrifices our grandparents went through.

been here several times buy your ticket for a years worth of visits thought it would be expensive but children are free and us 2 old folks price came to £33 for a year
Not a lot for very young children and food can be expensive
Apart from that you have 3 historic ships 2 you can go on HMS Warrior and HMS Victory brilliant the 4yr old we had with us loved it
The Mary Rose exhibition is something else there are many level to view this wreak great lifts transport you to all floors plenty old artefacts from the ship are on view
Great learning for children
Parking in outside the Warf and you will have your bags checked as this is a naval base

I have been to various Maritime, RAF and Army museums, but this was just completely unique and stunningly presented. You don't have to be a naval historian to appreciate the various exhibitions, historic ships and activities on offer. So much to see and keep both the kids and adults occupied, in rain or shine.

We booked online for discounted tickets. Tickets are valid for a year, meaning it represents very good value indeed. Tonnes of fascinating naval history to take in, you could easily spend 2 days or more here. The Mary Rose is located in the same dockyard complex, but has a separate entrance charge; we didn't have time to go but it looked stunning from outside.

We managed to squeeze in everything just about, apart from the museum of naval firepower. Particularly enjoyed the Warrior, 45 min Harbour tour (get a closer look at the Navy's modern warships), submarine museum, and the Jutland exhibition. Action Stations has some fun games and activities for the kids, including laser quest.

There are numerous eating options ranging from cafes to a cafeteria style eating area, restaurant, and a Costa.

One tip is to queue early for the Waterbus as it has limited spaces (50) each trip. The Harbour tour ship can carry a lot more passengers.
