“Gorgeous property with stunning views!”

Decided to treat ourselves to a pre-Christmas family break. We were not disappointed as the property with its idyllic surroundings was just awesome!! It was easy to communicate with Christine to book Glassonby and when we arrived, all the rooms were 'kitted out' to a very high spec. The only thing that we regretted was that we didn't book to stay for a longer period of time! Looking forward to going again soon!!

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property? Overall condition of the property

Bathroom cleanliness Other facilities & amenities

Liked best: Stunning surroundings and soooo peaceful.

Glassonby Old Hall and the adjoining Jenny's Croft are absolutely superb. We were in a group of 11 celebrating my birthday and were blown away by the restoration and grandeur of the properties. The feature dining hall was perfect for us all to sit and catch up over a meal, and the properties were excellently equipped with everything we needed. Don't hesitate in booking this property you will be thoroughly impressed! Hoping to visit Haus Hall next year.

My partner and I and our two friends with their two young kids and our two Yorkies have just come back Glassonby Hall. We have stayed at the sister accommodation in Blencowe and we simply cannot fault either property. We booked through Rural Retreats. The Hall is a converted Long Barn and has many of the original fittings even a glassed over well in one of the bathrooms. It was cosy and very well equipped.

So impressed are we that we intend to go for the triple and stay at their other accommodation near Howtown in Ullswater next year. You will not be disappointed with this place.

“AMAZING in every way!”

My parents flew over to the UK from NY to spend spring break with my husband and I and our two tween age daughters. We cannot express how amazing our holiday was for all involved. The homestead itself is immaculate. The yard is beautiful and the views outstanding. We were greeted with an unexpected hamper full of wine, bread, desserts, jam, and even a dozen eggs, juice and butter in the fridge! All of our rooms were so comfortable. We honestly did not want to leave. We chose this rental because we wanted a nice accommodation for a party of six with a dog and we're not disappointed. I happily and highly recommend Glassonby Hall.
We will definitely book another holiday here when time and schedules allow.

Liked best: Fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds.
Liked least: Trash was not picked up because it was bank holiday so the bins were overflowing when we arrived. Hopefully the staff will arrange for the trash to be taken to the skip whenever bank holiday prevents trash collection.
