We had a lovely meal at the restaurant after Christmas. The food was tasty and there is a good choice of dishes. The staff were friendly and would recommend if you are visiting Ambleside!

Food was really nice as was the service in general. Bar area is very cramped so if you have to wait you do not feel welcome as there is no where to sit.

As the restaurant doesn’t take bookings this will not suit everyone but if you are prepared to wait for a while at the bar this restaurant is well worth it. The staff are well organised and friendly.
The Cumbrian pizza ( which includes a fried egg on top of it) and the handcut chips were the standouts for me but we all had a great meal.
The prices represent good value and I would highly recommend it.

We always end up here in our last night in the Lakes. The food is great and the menu is different every year, with some great specials too.

Only thing that let it down this year was a slightly surly waitress.

Dined here with friends and the five of us all had a nice meal. Had to wait for a table so we had a drink at the bar which was a bit cramped and awkward. Once seated service was very good and everyone enjoyed their meal. We would certainly go back if in the area.
