We always visit Dodds when we come to the Lakes and had another excellent meal tonight. Wonderful antipasti and baked Camembert for starters and then delicious king prawn carbonara from the specials for main. Very friendly service as usual. We would have no hesitation in recommending this excellent restaurant for delicious Italian fare. Keep up the good work!

I had a pizza this time round at Dodds and have to say it was the best I've had in this restaurant before. They seem to have lightened up the base and made it easier to cut, which meant I spent more time enjoying the topping rather than trying to saw through it.

I had a chocolate torte for dessert and was very disappointed. It was hard and heavy and just did not taste very special. Will be sticking to the savoury food from now on.

What a great find... we had an excellent meal. The starter was lovely and the main course pizza beautifully authentic and totally home made. Get there early though; it's a very popular restaurant.

Great meal in a friendly and good value restaurant. We had belly pork and carbonara followed by tiramisu and cheese... propped up by two enormous G&t’s .

The belly pork was tender and cane with black pudding ... the black pudding was made in house and was fantastic.

On a cool and drizzly monday night in October the place was full by 7 ... so arrive early! There is no booking so first come , first served.

This has always been one of our favourite restaurants in Ambleside, but we hadn't visited for some time. Thankfully it's as good as ever. Lovely welcome, good choices on the menu all reasonably priced. And the quality of the food excellent.
