We have just returned from 2 nights in Ambleside, staying here. We were looking for somewhere dog friendly and in a central location as my husband is recovering from knee surgery - and this couldn't have been better!
The location is excellent, right in the centre of ambleside. We had no problems with parking (but this may have been as they weren't full).
The room (Number 2) was immaculately clean and had everything we needed (kettle, hair-dryer, shower gel etc coffee supplies and fresh milk available from the small fridge in reception).
The bed was extremely comfortable (although it was a smidge bit high for my short legs).
We rang ahead before we went to check about refund policy (with weather being questionable) and to ask about parking - as we were worrying about my husband walking a long distance. A lovely lady called Claire was so helpful in answering all our questions.
A few other people had mentioned about the noise of people walking in the room upstairs - we heard them a couple of times (assume this may be because it is laminate floor) but it was literally for less than a couple of minutes and not noisy enough to cause a problem
The room was really reasonable for the size of the room and location (and the bonus of getting a discount in Apple Pie Cafe was fantastic).
We ordered Pizza to the room from Ambleside Sourdough Pizza co on the 1st night which was delicious (and because it was Wednesday we got free sides, drinks and dips).
Will definately be back and would highly recommend staying here

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 2 as we travelled with a dog - room was quiet

We were luckily able to park up in front of the building but if there were no spaces left, the main public car park is a stone’s throw away. Check in staff were incredibly polite and very helpful - little things like the main door being locked at a certain time to remind us to take keys if we nipped out.

The room (room 1) was immaculate! Very modern and all the home comforts were provided. A really nice touch was the fresh milk and not UHT! There is a little fridge in reception where you can take as much milk as you need for when you fancy a hot drink. There is also an honesty box setup so if you fancy some chocolate, crisps, fizzy drink etc, you can check the price list, get what you want and pop the according amount in a pot. Brilliant idea and refreshing of the management to trust their guests!

The location of the accommodation is second to none. You are right in the centre of the town and very close to two good quality restaurants. The bakery associated to the hotel is next door and with even without the 10% discount as a guest at the B&B, well worth a visit.

A lovely relaxed two night stay and at accomodation my husband and I will definitely be booking again.

Room Tip: Room 1 is next door to the reception desk and has no stairs to climb to gain access. There is a step down into the bathroom though

Just returned from our second stay at the Apple Pie and it was just as lovely as the first time. We love it here. The rooms are comfy, clean and beautifully decorated. You have everything you could need. We walked all day then collapsed for a lovely nights sleep. Couldn't ask for better at a fab price in a beautiful location. We will be back!

We stayed here last week and could not fault the place from beginning to end. Firstly, may I point out that we had had to cancel our original booking due to one of our mums breaking her foot. The Apple Pie Eating House were kind enough to allow us to rebook an alternative date months later. Truly kind.
When we arrived we were warmly received by reception albeit we were early and they were good enough to show us to our room and park our car out front. The room was clean and tidy with a great view of the fells out the front and a wonderful bed. What impressed me was a quantity of freshly ground coffee and a large cafetière. This was a nice touch which I have never encountered in any B and B before. We had a quiet nights kip and all in all would thoroughly recommend you stay.

Thank you very much for your lovely review.

I just want to point out that we only transfer our non-refundable deposits to another date within 12 months if we manage to re-sell the cancelled room. This is not offered as part of our terms and conditions, but as a gesture of goodwill. Obviously your room was re-sold, hence the transfer of your deposit to the new booking.

Glad to hear you found a parking space. We are still hoping to provide a couple more spaces, but unfortunately, there is a bit of a hold up with this project, so not too sure at the moment when we will be able to offer these.

The ground coffee used in the B&B is the same as used in the Apple Pie Cafe, Mr Duffins coffee. (The gingerbread is also the same as sold in the shop).

If you are planning a return trip to the Rooms at the Apple Pie, please remember to ask about our loyalty card scheme. It is mentioned with all booking confirmation emails.

We hope to see you soon again.
