Weekend away with a group of friends, this hotel is just outside Ambleside, but an easy walk and nice to be near the Lake. It was great for our group trip as had enough twin rooms to accommodate 8 of us. All the staff gave fantastic customer service - and if you like a good breakfast, this is the place to stay! Rooms were clean and comfy and compared to other places we have stayed in the Lakes, it was good value for money.

Just got back yesterday from a Sunday night stay at The Regent. I booked it based on tripadvisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. We brought a dog with us and so we stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms (26). Here are the main points about this hotel:

Perfect location in Ambleside, opposite Windermere lake
Beautifully decorated, modern and stylish hotel
Room was good, extremely comfortable bed and pillows
Handy for taking dog out as Barrons Park is also opposite
Breakfast amazing, it is both a waiter and buffet service, they have everything you can think of
Nice atmosphere to hotel with friendly staff, one let us borrow his phone charger no problem
Lots of free on-site parking

No bad points would book again

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times and have never been disappointed. On my last visit I took my elderly parents and they have not stopped talking about how nice the hotel was; lovely food ; and very friendly staff.
I am hoping to return later in the year. Cannot think of a better place to stay.

If you want a great holiday in the Lake District stay in The regent. I base myself their twice a year for long walks and fantastic scenery. The location is nigh on perfect ,the Hotel very comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient. The great breakfasts get the day off to good start and then back in the evening for a drink and dinner. What more does anyone need?
