“A fabulous retreat!”
Reviewed April 19, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We spent a lovely week-end at the farmhouse and have booked to go again in May. It's very well located in a quiet and private spot but is within easy walking distance from Hawkshead. The house has loads of character and is beautifully furnished/decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons. Lovely views over the surrounding area. We can't wait to go back!

“Tranquil and cosy”
Reviewed January 13, 2015 for a stay in March 2014

We spent a lovely weekend at the Old Farmhouse. It has some beautiful original features like beams and panelling so it felt like we were staying in a National Trust property - except with really modern facilities. We did a couple of local walks from the cottage. Although the weather wasn't great the cottage was lovely and cosy to come back to and we could leave our wet coats and boots on the back porch to dry. In the evening we walked into Hawkshead village and had fish and chips at the Queens Head which was delicious. The cottage was very quiet and tranquil considering how close to the village it is.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Glad you liked the modern facilities whilst retaining the character of the property.

Farmhouse now has 4 bedrooms and 3 bath/shower rooms sleeping 8, and the garden has a lower and upper patio with tables and chairs for relaxation - also a barbecue
