““Perfect””
Reviewed September 9, 2018 for a stay in September 2018

A birthday celebration weekend for 20 people, ranging from 80 years old to 18 months old, The Hyning Estate was the perfect venue.
Luxurious accommodation, beds very comfortable, bathrooms spacious, fluffy towels, shower gel, shampoo etc provided.
The lounge, dining, and kitchen areas were just what we needed with everything provided to cater for 20 +.
If your looking for a luxurious venue for a special occasion, or even a peaceful getaway for two, I would highly recommend.
A huge Thank you, from all of us, for an amazing weekend.

“wonderful views and comfortable accommodation, great for multi family groups”
Reviewed August 26, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

We stayed in the Tack Barn (for 2) but had family staying in the big houses connected together. Very nicely appointed accommodation and ideal for multi-family groups as there is some flexibility about numbers for dining in the different houses and also many have a sofa bed or fold down bed. The views from the garden are beautiful and the location is perfect as you are just outside the lakes and so it is not nearly so crowded and you can reach the western dales (around Sedburgh) easily and get to the supermarket without having to sit in the terrible (in summer hols) Kendal one way system. Kitchens are well equipped with the exception that the only coffee maker in the small houses is type that you need plastic pods for - personally I don't like the coffee they make but I also object to the plastic waste compared to a cafetiere or stove top coffee pot, spoiling the otherwise impressive eco-credentials (eg heating from renewables, and I loved being able to recycle as much as I would back home - rare in rural properties). You can do great walks (eg up Whin hill which you can see from the estate) from the property without having to get in the car and the local landowners are unbelievably friendly and helpful to walkers! Light sleepers might mind the slightly noisy fan heating/ventilation system. Helpful owners and you can buy wine at the office too!

“Outstanding Accommodations Surrounded by Serenity”
Reviewed August 19, 2018 for a stay in July 2018

We stayed at the Farmhouse for 4 days a few weeks ago. The location and the estate is gorgeous, esthetic, serene and relaxing. While there are 7 or so self contained accommodations, there is a lot of privacy and you are unlikely to run into other guests.

The Old Farmhouse is impeccably restored with state of the art finishes and amenities. At the same time, it is very charming and welcoming. We had relaxing evenings either cooking in or take out. The beds were very comfortable. The location was also a great jump off point for hiking and exploring the Lake District.

The hosts are very welcoming and a pleasure to work with for the bookings and when you have questions or need help. Overall, it was a wonderful holiday.

“A great stay with lovely impressions.”
Reviewed July 13, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Jan and Richard are very friendly and helpful. The accomodation is fantastic equipped and spotlessly clean. The surrounding area is amazing. It's a good startingpoint for trips to the lakes and walking-tours in the mountains.

“Annual family get together”
Reviewed May 30, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Could not have wished for a better place. So tranquil and quiet. Well appointed cottages. Tastefully decorated. We rented the Hyning house. Good kitchen. Only criticism is about the knife sharpener. Not up to the job it supposed to do. We were blessed with two fantastic days.
Will be back with friends and family for some other celebration.
Thank you Richard and his team for maintaining the place to such a high standard.
