I only stayed for the night but was very pleasantly surprised by how much effort has gone into the refit of the hotel.
From the outside it could be any old Lake District hotel however the standard of finish on the inside would happily grace any chic boutique hotel anywhere.
Staff were first class and the breakfast was great.
I’d highly recommend the hotel whether staying for a few days in the Lake District or passing through on business.

Room was nice, but lacking storage space for clothing. Other than that, nice hotel, good food. Lovely, easy walk to town of Penrith, which is charming and quaint, loaded with side alleys and interesting shops.

Very expensive hotel which seems to cater mainly to spa customers. Booked a twin room only to find it had been made up as a double. Quite a long wait to change that back to a twin. Reasonably comfortable room. No breakfast included and quite expensive so left as soon as possible.

We stayed for one night in a signature family room on our way up to Scotland. The room was lovely, and the children were overjoyed with their personalised cookies, LED lighting on the bunk beds, and hot chocolate. The pool was great, and being the weekend there were no restrictions on when the kids could use it.

The room was comfortable and quiet, despite the close proximity to major roads. We only ate there for breakfast, which I can confirm was ok but nothing special. I do think they should include breakfast for kids in the room rate though.

I attended a something special spa Day booked through spa breaks. The price was reasonable and included an afternoon tea. The staff in the spa reception were very friendly and helpful. The changing rooms, pool, spa and sauna very clean. The afternoon tea was very good and there was a great selection of cakes.
