me and my family have celebrated new years eve at the cragwood for 17 years. year after year we thoroughly enjoy our stay. the rooms are warm and cosy and very well equipped, the food is amazing (credits to the chef), the staff are very friendly and lovely and cater for the needs of everyone. new year at the cragwood is very enjoyable there is a disco, fireworks, haggis after midnight, a lovely meal, canapés and champagne Before the meal. on new years day you wake up to lovely breakfast, I would highly recommend the cragwood!

Stayed recently at this beautiful hotel and was so impressed by the warm welcome we received and the standard of service throughout our 3 day break. Andrew and Jonathon in particular were the perfect hosts during the evening and nothing was too much trouble. As vegetarians/vegans we thought they may have difficulties catering for our needs but apart from the last evening our meals were carefully planned and delicious If we had any complaint it would be the cooked breakfast which was not up to the standard we had expected. The rooms were warm and cosy and the lounges were beautiful and inviting with the log fires. There was also a lovely patio area and gardens and a gentle walk down to the lake.We think the hotel although a little pricely is still wonderful value for money.

Just returned from a 3 night stay as our "Mini Moon" and found Cragwood absolutely wonderful. Set in a stunning location on the banks of Lake Windermere the hotel offers a truly relaxing, peaceful and warming stay.
The staff are extremely polite and helpful and as for the food...well this was absolutely fantastic. A real credit to the Chef(s).
We used Cragwood as a base for our trips and its location is great for visiting most areas of the Lakes.
I would highly recommend staying at cragwood and we will definately be going back.

Just got back from a fabulous three night stay at the Cragwood Country House Hotel in Windermere. The staff we fantastic, especially Robert, Andrew and Ruth who where there to help me with whatever I needed. They were very baby friendly and where able to accomodate any extra needs that I required for our one year old, with a cot all set up in the bedroom and a highchair always waiting for us at breakfast. The food at Breakfast was delicious, would really recommend the scambled eggs on toast.
The bedrooms were really spaceous with great views and it was lovely to sit in the lounge in front of the log fire having a cup of tea after our walks around the grounds and Windermine. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend, would really recommend the hotel and will be staying there again in the future.

We had a beautiful room that was very well equipped. The food was excellent - all home-made with very good choice. The wine list was varied and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. It was lovely to sit on a rainy morning by the log fire drinking coffee and reading a good book - utter bliss.
