61 years of friendship call for a bit of a "do"!!!!
And we had it ..yesterday at the Cragwood !!
Welcome was warm and we felt very much at home in a quiet lounge enjoying a pre lunch drink before going to Dining room for a delightful lunch
Menu varied,Food delicious ,wine lovely served by friendly waiters
Coffee in the lounge overlooking the gardens rolling down to the Lake
A truly good choice for our reunion

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor. It sounds like a very enjoyable afternoon.

I am most pleased that your lunch was a success. We are most fortunate to have a fantastic team of Chefs. We are due to join the AA in the coming months and are hoping to achieve two much coveted AA rosettes.

I am glad you enjoyed the view of the gardens furthermore. We have lovely grounds at Cragwood which really give you the secluded and peaceful feel of the Lake District. A number of our guests often come just to find their own corner and watch the boats go by.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Cragwood in the future.

Kind regards,

We recently spent 3 nights at this hotel on one of their offers, I went fishing and used the WADAA permit which the hotel purchases and my husband enjoyed his trips out to various steam train attractions. It was a pleasure to return to the hotel in the evening to enjoy freshly cooked food beautifully set out on the plate. The staff were friendly and helpful, the bedrooms were large and there were many attractive lounges downstairs to relax in as well as well kept grounds to walk in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted that you enjoyed your fishing break. We believe the Cragwood grounds are the best place around for fishing because the grounds are so quiet which must have an effect on the fishing. Even if you don't manage to catch anything, the Cragwood's grounds really does give that feeling of serenity.

Thank you for your comments on the food. Chef will be most grateful and delighted that you enjoyed your meal.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Cragwood in the future.

We have just celebrated our wedding at Cragwood Country Hotel and what a celebration it was. The staff at the hotel were so helpful throughout the 14 months of planning, nothing was too much trouble, the wedding weekend was an absolutely fantastic event and the food was 5* without doubt. We can't speak highly enough of Stacey and the "team" at Cragwood.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor and congratulations to you both!

We believe that there isn't anywhere better to get married than the Cragwood gazebo. The stunning views of the Langdale Pikes much it a picture perfect backdrop and an ideal place for photos following the ceremony.

Thank you for your comments about Stacey. Stacye and her team are more than happy to go the extra miles for our guests, especially on their big day and will no doubt be delighted that she has contributed so positively to your big day.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Cragwood in the future.

Booked a couple of days on a special offer deal and although the reviews were good, we did not expect much as the offer was very reasonable; how wrong we were! A cream tea with Prosecco was provided on arrival as part of the deal, delicious! In a very good location this is a fantastic hotel where peace could be found in the many lounge areas. We had a very comfortable bedroom. Magnificent grounds, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfasts (we were not able to sample the evening meals due to our other engagements), I cannot praise the Cragwood highly enough and given the opportunity will return, preferably for a longer period

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that it as 100% better than you had expected. You are right that there are a number of comfortable lounges through the hotel with stunning views of Lake Windermere. Plenty of guests often comment how they enjoying the serenity of the hotels grounds in particular for a place to relax. The peace and quiet with the back drop of the rugged Langdale Pikes is a truly magical combination and one of my favourite places to be.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Cragwood in the future.

The hotel is in a beautiful location with extensive lakeside grounds and a beautiful garden. It is exceptionally quiet and peaceful. It is easy to access and there is plenty of parking. The location is great for this part of the Lake District with at least three or four days worth of sights within thirty miles.
We stayed in the old part of the hotel where the rooms possibly have more character than in the new part, I'm not sure as we saw the newer ones only while passing along the corridor. Anyway, we had room 6, a family room with a massive double and a single. It is a lovely room with double aspect and views of the lake. It is spacious and very tastefully decorated and furnished. The bathroom is tiny but entirely functional.
We stayed for three nights and dined in the restaurant each night - one has to book a slot, 6.30pm/7.30pm/ 8.30pm, and when you appear in the bar or one of the lounges to have a drink beforehand you will get your menus and make your choice. You will then be taken to your table when the starter is ready. The dinners were superb, beautifully presented, well balanced and cooked to perfection. There is an extensive and reasonably priced wine list. Breakfast is good too - haddock or kippers are on the menu as well as the usual.
The hotel is well maintained, clean, and the communal rooms are numerous and nicely furnished. They have beautiful views out onto the gardens and over the lake.
The staff are smart, well trained, pleasant and friendly.
This is a truly lovely hotel and we will return.

Room Tip: The old part of the hotel is characterful, quiet and has the best views.

Thank you for your recent review on Tripadvisor.

Your review was most comprehensive and I am delighted that you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay. I couldn't agree more about the stunning views. The Cragwood is most fortunate to be on a protruding headland which makes for stunning views down the lake towards Bowness and even more strikingly unimpeded views of the gorgeous, rugged Langdale Pikes. Personally, I love walking the Cragwood grounds as there is always a new part to explore. I am delighted that you did as well.

Thank you also for your comments on the staff. We are more than happy to go the extra mile for our guests and when we receive such positive comments it is most warming.

Thank you once again for your review and hopefully we can welcome you back to the Cragwood in the future.
