Stayed on a Saturday night at the Alumhurst with 2 friends. We had room 2 (twin) and room 14 (double). Both rooms were absolutely spotless and decorated in a contemporary way. Only small downside was the size on the shower but otherwise the rooms were impeccable.

The hotel itself is based just a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town and although I was slightly worried about potential noise issues I can honestly say that I wasn't disturbed at all even though my room faced out onto the street.

The best thing about this hotel though is it's owner Pat. From the moment my reservation was taken I knew that we were going to be really looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for Pat, including trying to sort out a last minute limo and glasses and ice for our afternoon drinks. She really went out of her way to make us feel very welcome.

All in all I would recomend this hotel whole heartedly for anyone looking for a friendly and inexpensive break with a little bit of class thrown in.

My girlfriend and I came to stay at the hotel as a special weekend away. However, we were very disappointed with the quality of our room. We booked a premier room, believing that this would be different from other guesthouses in Blackpool. When we arrived the staff were initially very helpful, but when shown to our room we felt let down. The room was small, with very basic facilities, and had not been hoovered. I would recommend anyone who plans to stay here to not pay over the odds...this is no different to any other B&B.
