My husband and I booked this hotel last minute for a one night stay on 14th October. We arrived and managed to find a parking spot as there is no parking at the hotel.
The frontage looked very run down with dirty windows and broken blinds. We entered the hotel and the inside was the same ,no reception just the bar, dirty frayed carpets and very little furniture.
We were shown to a room at the back of the hotel on the first floor, everywhere looked dated, dirty and in need of a good paint job.
When we entered the room, about 6 feet x 8 feet with a bathroom the size of a single toilet I was so disappointed. The walls were artexed in a fashion, yellow with age and full of holes. Some had been filled in with white silicon. Across one wall was a large a large board which had been nailed on to the wall to cover a hole I assume. The double bed was in the corner and looked ok the sheets looked clean.
The floor was laminate boarded but old and damaged, there was a small single wardrobe an old desk and a rickety chair.
The windows were filthy as were the nets and curtains hanging from them, when you drew the curtains they fell off the rails.
The bathroom was covered in silicon where they had obviously tried to cover up cracks and dirt. There were clean towels.
There was an old television on the wall but no signal to it. The pillows were so thin that I asked for more but didn’t get them.
As it was only one night we decided to stay. We had paid extra for breakfast but on seeing the state of the place decided against it. The mattress had springs that dug in us all night and was very lumpy so we didn’t get much sleep.
We paid in total £86 pounds and expected better.
This is probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and in my opinion should be closed down.

Absolutely disgusting...we were changed rooms 3 times and there wasn t any of them that were habitable. I ended up sleeping on throws on top of the bed id bought when shopping. The toilet was brown and not even screwed to the ground. Showers were mouldy ..carpets stained..windows rusted open...wouldn't if eaten there if my life has depended on it...the place wants shut down...ive no idea how environmental health allow this place to stay open !!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place when I stayed with my family, I booked through booking.com and only read there review which was positive about this place. It wasn't until we'd set off my missus checked on here and read all the awful reviews, I'll admit I got a little worried, but once we arrived we were welcomed in the bar reception area and checked in with no problems, we got led to our room and I nipped back to reception to ask if they had a travel cot, they did and they had it with us in seconds. Room was simple and clean had a new TV in the room and good tea making facilities. You get what you pay for in Blackpool and for 50 for a family of four I was more than happy en suite was clean and tidy if not a little dated but that's not really a big deal if it's clean. Shower was fantastic nice and warm after being out in the elements. The breakfast is a simple continental one but again for the price I had no complaints, unlike a few of the other guests who all seemed to gang up on the young lad running the place over the lack of a cooked breakfast, they then tried to complain about noise through the night which I had worried about but there was none. Seemed like people wanted a freebie. Overall cannot complain about my stay here welcoming and right in the centre of Blackpool. Just remember people you get what you pay for! Don't expect the Ritz for 50quid for a night for four people.

After spending all day enjoying Blackpool my family and I decided rather than take the long trip back home we would book an overnight so we could enjoy a second day out. After finding the Royal we were surprised by the low £130 overnight price for a family of 5 which included two separate rooms for myself, my wife and my daughter and for my two teenage sons. Upon arriving the first thing we witnessed was a group of elderly but obviously very annoyed ladies who were complaining that they flat out refused to spend another night due to the poor state of the beds and mattresses and were demanding they be changed. One of them even saying they would much rather sleep on the seats in the pool room instead. Not the best first sign you need upon walking in. None of the staff seemed to speak hardly any english and just stood staring at them blankly right before he sat down and showed his butt crack the rest of the evening on his phone as three of them continued to talk and laugh in non english. I've never seen so called staff look so completely not bothered about how things were run it was almost comical to watch. After some games of pool and a few drinks (pure orange for me as I don't drink) we located our two rooms and while not the best they were both adequate enough for our needs with clean linen and pillows but what looked like burns all over the noisy wooden floor. The bed was so close to the falling down doorless wardrobe my wife kept bumping into them both trying to go to the toilet and she's tiny. Upon entering the bathroom I pulled back the shower curtain to check the state of the shower only to be met with a window, they had a shower curtain on the curtain rail as an actual curtain. The shower was actually behind yet another shower curtain behind me and after a single look I did not use it.

We decided to have a look around and believe me this place is a maze within a maze consisting of multiple stairwells, doors and corridors and as I stepped off a final step I twisted my ankle as the floorboard was lop sided, not a great start either. If I were an elderly person I would have been on my back. The real horror began however when we retired to our rooms for the night and the blanket we had was so thin it barely covered the two of us and my wife was so called I let her just wrap herself up in it. And then the noises started. Imagine if you will being in a box and being bombarded with noise from all angles - from the sides, above and below. Then add in an ancient heating system that made a constant thud noise just above your head and to the left every single second for hours on end. Add on top of this people coming in and out of rooms ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT slamming doors, shouting and arguing or banging and screaming LET ME IN!!! While right outside wasn't any better. I didn't get a wink of sleep until at least gone 4:30 am and was eventually forced to turn the tv on to watch until I eventually dozed off out of pure exhaustion both physically and mentally. How my wife and daughter both slept I will never know as I was in my very own personal hell.

It's been a long time since something came close to mentally breaking me down but I felt like staying here overnight almost did. As I'm also in my mid 40's and after walking up and down the promenade quite literally all day with a heavy back pack on I really needed a good nights sleep so knowing I would have to do it again the next day I woke up to yet more noise at 7:30am drained and miserable and completely wishing we had left in the night. And oh yes that £3 so called breakfast was the worst food we had eaten ever as it was neither worth the money or getting up for. I've never been so glad to see the back of a place as I did when I left the Royal Vincent so much so my wife said goodbye but I just walked right out and I have genuinely never done that upon staying somewhere because I have manners and this was my first ever experience staying the night in Blackpool which was pretty much a childhood dream of mine.

All in all do not be fooled by the staged website photo's, do not walk past and think this place looks better than most and it's relatively cheap. Keep on walking and don't look back because it quite literally will ruin your entire trip just as it did mine and it's an experience I never wish to repeat ever again.
