Bad, is the best mentioned. We stayed there last week, overlooking the front. No TV working, cleaned couple of times, no hoovering (at all), ALL WEEK... Pretty awful, would never recommend to anyone staying...

Dearest Disgruntled of Cymro,
firstly I wish to thank you for the photograph from your bedroom window which shows the regeneration of the area has begun, gone are several of the derelict buildings mentioned in some previous reviews.

As you may or may not recall at the time of check in we tell ALL our guests (not a selected few) that if there is anything you need either to ask at reception or if reception is unmanned to pick up the phone in your room and dial ZERO, there is always somebody in the building to assist with anything you may need.

At no time did you inform me that you had problems with your TV, had you done so I would have resolved the issue, often it is as simple as retuning the unit.

Our house keepers go into rooms daily to empty bins, refresh teas, coffee, milks and biscuits, they change towels and bed linen every third morning. IF they find personal belongings on the beds or floor they are instructed not to touch them, it therefore makes perfect sense that as they found personal belongings on the floor of the room they would not vacuum (nothing more inconvenient than losing a diamond ear-ring in a hover).

Should you wish to discuss your review with me please call me on the hotel land line

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Waldorf with my husband and daughter. We moved to England 6 months ago and live a few hours from Blackpool so decided it was time we ought to pay a visit.

I booked about 6 weeks in advance through booking.com and secured 2 nights b&b for circa £140 which I think is reasonable enough, however I suspect if you contact the hotel directly you might get an even better deal.

The area the hotel is located in is a bit run down as mentioned in previous reviews, in fact when we arrived we were a little concerned as we thought perhaps it wasn't open. Luckily it was - in fact it appears to be the only business on that row that seems to have survived - and for good reason, it's a little diamond in the rough. The hotel probably could use a little updating but it's got tons of character, it's clean and comfortable. It is right beside the Burlington Road West tram stop which takes you down into Blackpool, to the central and north piers so the location is fantastic.

Without a doubt the staff are one of the best things about the place. They visibility go out of their way to make sure you feel taken care of at all times. Breakfast was absolutely delicious both days. Just what you need to set you up for a busy day exploring. It is all cooked fresh to order and the lady in the kitchen even came out to say hello to everyone and ask if anyone wanted more! The whole team really couldn't do enough for us and were so attentive with our little one too.

Steve the owner is such a nice guy, I feel like I never stopped asking him questions but he was only too happy to help. He even supplied us with milk for our daughter when we didn't make it to the shops on our way back one evening, and he took a look at my car when it was making odd noises - just needed topped up with water but I'm clueless with that kind of thing so having someone willing to help was fantastic.

I wouldn't hesitate to return when our daughter is a little bigger so we can explore Blackpool a bit more. Thanks again for a lovely stay :)

Hi Dawn,
thank you for taking time to write a review and for the "Perfect 10", it is much appreciated. One of the things my late partner use to tell all the staff is that it is not us that pay them, it's you the guests and I think because of that they all go the extra mile to try to get things spot on.

I hope to see you again next year

Steve

We arrived to the area which is very run down a lot of the hotels are closed which i found strange ...Waldorf has survived... the hotel is surrounded by closed doors... upon entering the hotel itself is dated however its clean...we stayed in a family room which suited our needs the room was clean had ensuite shower etc fresh towels ever morning and cleaned every morning had tea/coffee making facilities etc hairdrier and a tv kids tv channels wifi etc....breakfast was served between 845am to 945am which suited us brilliant with a 6 yr old ...breakfast was outstanding 5* service portion size was huge nothing was to much trouble and the attention and fuss my daughter got made it even better ....what made this hotel for me was the service i recieved as the days went on the interaction from all the staff they made you feel welcome comfortable and nothing was a hassle ...i have stayed in many hotels from 5* to b+b but never recieve this kind of service this made my holiday ...we had to check out on the friday as we would be away early on the saturday morningupon leaving Steve the owner got up and had a breakfast bag ready for the 3 of us to take on our early boat home now where would you get service like that..... MY FAMILY WILL BE BACK TO THIS HOTEL AND I WILL RECOMMEND IT TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS..
STEVE thankyou it was more like a home than a hotel.

Hi Tracey,
Sorry it's taken so long to reply to your lovely review and for the "Perfect 10". We are always concious that with almost a thousand hotels, B&B's and guest houses in the town our guests are spoilt for choice, the staff dont feel as if they are going out of our way, they just do what feel right and how we ourselves would like to be treat on holiday.

Hope to see you again next year

Steve

At a first look it looks a little dated and in need of a little tlc but you get what you pay for.
The owner is a real gem and does his best to help where he can. He even offered to get me caffeine free coke :).
The beds are comfortable so we all got a good night's sleep.
Couldn't connect to the WiFi :( but as we were out 90% of the time it wasn't to much of an issue.
Would come back here if we were in blackpool again.
Good parking right out side the front of the hotel and no need to move the car as the tram line runs right in front of the hotel on the other side of the road.

This was our 3rdvisit to the Waldorf and even though it has been a couple of years since the last time due to ill health, we were made to feel as if it had only been a couple of months. Steve and his staff are all very helpfull with a wealth of local knowlage.Breakfast is fantastic all cooked fresh to order and plenty of choice. The rooms are all clean and well equiped. The location is ideal during the lights as it is near the end of the tram route after the south pier so top tip go up to Clevelys during the afternoon then after dark catch the tram from there and ride all the way back to hotel avoid the massive ques to get on the tram or bus.

Room Tip: 101 has a sea view and bath with shower over it.
