Just returned from a weekend break at the Viking. The bedroom was of an adequate standard and very clean. The public rooms were of a very good standard, and the food was excellent.
Every member of staff that we saw could not do enough for you, which shows that this hotel operates an excellent Customer Service policy.
The highlight of the weekend was the entertainment in their "Talk of the Coast" cabaret lounge . Friday night was excellent, and we thought that it could not be topped - but Saturday was fantastic. Buddy Lee who was the compare is top class, and you can see why he has been there for many years. The guest comedians where also great - we laughed all the way through the show.
If you need cheering up and want good value for money - then this is the place to go!!

Jst back from the viking, were my wife and myself had a FANTASTIC time. Great entertainment with BUDDY LEE a truly brilliant compare & commedian who obviously loves the job that he does. The dancers are truly MAGNIFICENT with costumes that take your breath away. The hotel's rooms are of a good standard with clean towels and linnen frequently changed. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. The only problems we have are the drinks that are much to expensive, unless you go all inclusive and my view when eating was facing a wall not very relaxing at all,the other was a waiter spilled soup on my leg because he was rushing,he apologised but the damage was done i would have thought a free bottle of wine would have at least been offered but alas no. Apart from these small set backs you do get a great break for the ammount you pay.the VIKING we will recomend. PS. the new trams are brilliant and there are stops outside of the hotel

Room Tip: ask for a room away from extractor vents nr the kitchens

A good place if you're a pensioner from the north.Decent enough rooms but our view was of police station and boiler room.Mainly British staff and all friendly and helpful.Rooms clean and beds comfy enough for a couple of nights.Went to sit by window in the Seaview restaurant only to be told we had been allocated a place not by the window as people who had booked earlier had been allocated these.Fair enough, just would have been nice to know. Can't complain about the food which was good for Blackpool, not exactly known for 5 star Michelin restaurants is it? Entertainment was bingo with a jackpot of £200 which is worth winning if you've only paid £120 for your stay.Buddy Lee is a good laugh,Carl Schofield(comedian) is worth seeing and the singer and dancers were a singer and dancers. They let passers by in after residents have had first choice of seats so anyone could come in.Had a nice 2 nights breakaway and would recommend this hotel for friendly Northern pensioners especially.

i do not usually use 2 star hotels but after reading the reviews i decided to give it a try and i am glad i did. The rooms could do with decorating but were very clean. The food was very good and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was 1st class and i never had to wait to get served at the bar. Overall very good value and would definitely book again.
