“Great Clean and friendly Guesthouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2012

We stayed at the Lynbar for two nights, Sara was away, so Lionel was supported by their daugher, the guesthouse was very clean and the rooms very comfortable with everything you need from toiletries to tea, coffee and hot chocolate, the breakfast was very generous and very well cooked, the sausages were great. The location is ideal very close to the central carpark and the Tower,

We returned from this hotel today after a lovely few days there and have to say its one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in Blackpool, Lionel was very friendly and couldn't do enough for anyone and Sara was very pleasant but didn't see much of her as she was cooking and cleaning etc.The hotel was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and welcoming, we stayed in room 11 and my parents in 10 and there isnt anything I can think of that isn't provided, tea, coffee, hot chocolate biscuits, tissues, pen and paper, television etc and again spotlessly clean, the meals were lovely aswell and very filling so after breakfast you can last well up until tea time. All in all this is a lovely hotel would definitely stay here again, and Lionel and Sara are exceptionally good hosts!!

We have just come back from a weekend at the Lynbar. The owner Lionel welcomed us and helped us take our bags up the stairs. We stayed in room 11 , a second floor ensuite with a walk in shower, toilet & washbasin, complimentary toiletries including a sewing kit where available. The room was comfortable, warm & clean. A double pine bed with a small lace canopy over, there was also a dressing table & stool ,a two seater settee & a small flat screen TV on the wall. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate making facilites available & biscuits on arrival. You could open one window quite wide if you wished which would be useful in the summer to keep cool.

Lionel was very helpful during our stay, helping us find disabled parking, and giving advice on where to go in the evenings. We didnt see as much of Sara as she was busy with cooking breakfasts and cleaning. The breakfasts were lovely plenty of choice, and the Guest House was spotlessly clean. It is obviously a popular place to stay as the other guests who were staying had been returning back to stay over a number of years. The Lynbar is centrally located only a few minutes walk from the Tower, The Sands, The Sea Life Centre, and the shopping centre, also pubs & places to eat.
We would like again to thank Lionel & Sara for all their hard work making the Lynbar a comfortable pleasant place to stay.
We hope to return in the future. Next time though we would book a room on a lower floor as I am disabled with arthritis and found it a bit of a struggle with the amount of stairs. In fairness Lionel did advise us of the stairs when we booked but there were only rooms on the 2nd floor available as we booked last minute.

Room Tip: Book giving plenty of notice if you want a choice of rooms as they book up quickly due to the Lynbar...

Spotless rooms, nice and warm. Great service from the hosts and the breakfast is all you could ask for. The best I have stayed in anywhere in the UK.

Coming for the North West Area Brass Band Championships, our priority was to be close to the Winter Gardens and also near a car park. We have previously stayed in other hotels with our respective bands and some of them have been pretty bad - dirty rooms, poor service etc. Not so at the Lynbar - everything beautifully clean, brilliant value and excellent hosts. Lionel even gave us an extra key as we were both likely to be coming in and out separately as our bands played at different times. I chose the Lynbar based on the Trip advisor ratings and we were not disappointed. Thank you both for a lovely stay.
