A nice level walk around the many lakes King Lear statues - lots of wild life. Take your dog or/and the kids they will love it. Plenty of parking at a small charge

Actually there are so many walks around here that a map would be useful. There are lakes and rivers to walk around. There are many many birds to see and the odd bit of history comes upon you. It is a wonderful place to be except when heavy rains flood the area which is fortunately not too often. A mother of my favourite places

Excellent facility right on the city boundary. Free parking too! Wonderful paths and specialist trails which alone will take you all your time. large areas for family picnics. Quiet places to birdwatch. Cycle tracks. Something for everyone. Points of interest for kids created like dinosaur
If you need a bit of peice at lunch time or any time try it..

Nice place for a walk. Certainly get in your steps so wear a pedometer to check.
Main reason for coming is for blackberries. Bring a few boxes, a person with long arms and you're pretty set. Don't be rude about it though, if others are getting blackberries from a bush just move on.

Water mead is an excellent place to take a stroll, unspoilt and lots of wildlife, there is just an ice cream van so bring your own pick Nick or barbecue breeze block stands are provided to put on portable barbecues and bins for rubbish, please use them as sometimes people don't! A good place to unwind and breath away from the city, one of my favourite places to visit all year round.

We went to the small lake with 4 children aged 1 - 5. Had a walk round with double buggy and picnic at the end. Nothing to keep kids entertained other than nature - we took fishing nets and kept them busy with pond dipping, bug hunting collecting bits and bobs. Nice walk, water is a bit murkey in places, a few ducks to feed, nice place to pass a couple of hours, Saw a heron in the distance. Car park £2.50
