I booked these apartments in December for a late January one night stay through booking.com. I had a message saying the card was declined and I should re-enter my details which I did. The next day I got another message saying the card was declined again and that my booking was cancelled. I went onto booking.com and there were no more rooms left so I rang the property direct.
They had a policy that they had to cancel my room rather than ask me for a different credit card and if I wanted to book with them I had to book at a higher price. This is unfair as they have left it so late to check to see if the card payment was valid and had they checked immediately there would still be rooms left and at the promotional booking.com rate. The woman on the phone was less than helpful saying she couldn’t do anything about it despite my claims that it’s not fair and it will have been their mistake. After the phone call with me telling them I’ll look for somewhere else I called my bank. They saw the attempted transaction and said that the three digits on the back of the card they attempted to enter did not match the actual card so it was her fault all along and I was being punished and forced to pay a higher rate for their incompetence!
Reading these reviews it seems I’ve dodged a bullet anyway!
