Brilliant way of transport, every big city should follow this way.

Always very busy, always lots of drunks at night, but defiantly the best and only way in my opinion around London. Just a shame how expensive it is.

Apart from the odd 'person on the line' which is not good for anyone, the tube is fast efficiecnt and far cleaner than I can remembered,

London Underground when it is fully operational and when one Union or another are not on strike is THE best and fastest way to get from one location.

A London Underground Map and App for both IOS and Android formats available to download.

Do not forget that there is also a Riverbus service as part of the London Transport network where you can see all sorts of MUST see sights from Greenwich to the O2 right up to Chelsea. These River Buses are not as yet shown on the London Underground Map, but they will be soon

Crowded, hot but efficient. You will certainly go on the underground when you visit London. The various lines have different characteristics and the trains are slowly being replaced by modern compartment less versions. Remember to download the Tube Map onto your phone and also use the Citymapper App to plan a journey. Integrate your journey with buses and the Overground. Avoid the larger stations as getting out of Kings Cross can take as long as a whole central London journey.

People have strong opinions on public transportation; it's always a mixed bag. I have to say, being from South Florida, we love our cars- yet, London (in my humble opinion) has the safest subway system on the planet. The trains looked brand new- rarely is there a problem on scheduling. Uber is great, but if you need to get somewhere quickly during peak hours, it's the only way to travel.

In all honesty the only way to get around London as a tourist unless you love walking everywhere. Get yourself an Oyster Card from a TFL Ticket office or many local shops will sell them or a 7 / 3 day travel card and a map or app on your phone!
It does get insanely busy at rush hour so if you dislike crowds then avoid 8-9.30 am and 5-6pm.
If you have a UK contactless debit/credit card then its actually cheaper to use that than using the Oyster card or travel card, just be aware if you are using a card from a non UK bank you may be charged by your bank an exchange fee for every transaction.

Easy to use and convenient to everything. It is a well designed system. Just avoid it during rush hour. It gets crazy and packed.
