Wow, the Tower of London was amazing! This was my favorite part of my trip to London! So much history. We did the audio guides (not the live tours) and I was impressed with the amount of information involved. Easily an all day event. I recommend arriving early to beat the crowds.

We went early in the day and beat the rsh to see the Crown Jewels. I was sprinkling a little so the Yeoman Warden cancelled our tour so we walked the tower ourselves. The Fusiliers museum is also very good.

We have been wanting to visit the Tower of London for a few years now and took our folks on a rainy day.

The ticket office sells you tickets that have an additional donation amount included, make sure you ask for this to be removed as the tickets are already steep. This is quite sneaky on their part as they don’t mention this to you unless you point it out.

On a rainy day, there is not much shelter from the cold and rain. Since you queue for many of the displays this was quite disappointing as you can be outside for up to 45 minutes at a time. The use of outdoor heaters and awnings could be a simple answer to this problem.

The displays seem quite old, sometimes unreadable and the venue hasn’t adopted the use of digital technology to make displays come to life and more engaging, this would be great for kids and to keep crowds happy during long queue waits.

This is something we can say we have been to but would we go back, probably not.

Make sure to wait for a Beefeater tour. We had Daniel and he was as fun as he was informative. It was amazing!
