“The most comfortable beds and beautiful decor”
Reviewed 21 May 2012

This hotel had the perfect location in South Kensington near Thurloe Sq. and pedestrian mall. The service and breakfast were fantastic. Room was very small but the comfort and decor made up for the size.

We stayed at Number 16 the first weekend in April 2012 and had a great time. The staff are truly professional and welcoming. Room quite small but very well appointed and comfortable. Bathroom with double basin good size.
Afternoon tea is great in the courtyard garden, breakfast buffet also top notch.
The drawing rooms are wackily decorated but have a great feel. All in all a truly memorable place to stay in London, beats the anodyne large so called luxury hotels, Number Sixteen exudes so much more style. We will be back.

The rooms are small but extremely stylish and pretty. The building is lovely. The service is very good. The garden is worth a look. The hotel is very convenient as it is a 5 minute walk from the South Kensington Tube Station (and less than 10 minutes to the V&A). However, the pound being so much stronger than the US$ makes this an expensive hotel (at least $450 a night).

Great location, comfortable (though small) and quiet room in London. My mom and I stayed here for her 60th birthday and had a fantastic long weekend exploring the city. There are some lovely restaurants near the hotel and the staff was very helpful providing recommendations each night. Everyone was cheery, the hotel was clean, and breakfast was tasty. They have free Internet if you use the desktop computer downstairs but wifi comes at a steep price which I found ridiculous given the price and size of the hotel. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay for a girls weekend in London.

I have stayed at some lovely and charming hotels over the years, but Number Sixteen, a boutique hotel in South Kensington, is the perfect combination of beauty, customer service, and location! Our room was stunning with a wonderful view of the garden, the staff was superb -- cheerful, incredibly helpful and very accommodating, and the location was wonderful, right around the corner from a major tube stop and within walking distance of major attractions. I was sad to leave but am quite sure I will return.

Recently completed my fourth stay at Number Sixteen and highly recommend. Located near the South Kensington tube station, the hotel is a true gem. When you enter the immediate feel is small and exclusive, quiet, comfortable, and beautiful. The staff is friendly, the sitting areas plush and inviting, and the rooms are large and well designed. The lower levels find rooms with access to the garden, which seems like an oasis in central London.

I will stay at Number Sixteen in the future. Restaurants, shopping, museums are an easy walk, and with the tube a quick walk, the hotel is at London's doorstep. Stay here.

Room Tip: Rear rooms are quiet.
